The Little Andaman Island is one of the largest islands in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands that are open to the public. Being a bit distant from Port Blair, they are not frequently visited, but the pristine beaches, palm trees, waterfalls and the surf draw a number of tourists.
The island has bounced back from the devastations of the tsunami in 2004 and has established resorts and thatched houses where tourists can stay. The beach and light house are the major attractions. Scuba diving and snorkelling are the main activities here.
Transport inside the island is by walk or by motorcycles and autorickshaws. It is connected to Port Blair by ferries and speed boats from Hut Bay. Ferries operate once in a day due to which prior planning is necessary to visit Little Andaman Island.
