Little paradise in real terms

Posted 2 Jan

Little paradise is on of the best weekend destinations I have ever been to. The place is right next to the beach and is as quite and relaxing as one would expect. The best part was that the view and beauty of the place mesmerize you to the fullest. Adding to cherry on the cake is a very humble host Jehangir. His family does make you feel like home and gets you some mouth watering dishes that makes your stay most memorable.

This place is actually a little paradise. You can easily spend a couple of days here. It has 3 lovely neat and clean wooden cottages with clean bathrooms and sit-out cum dining area with a lovely view of the beach. The place is windy with pleasant and soothing sound of waves. This place has a nice garden area with a swing. Our pet buddy thoroughly enjoyed his stay as well. Then there is a private entrance to beach which is like a private beach only with zero crowd. And yes! Food is excellent We had three meals and food was very tasty. Murud zanzira fort is very close and kashid beach is also not very far away to explore. Highly recommend this place.

Picture Perfect

Posted 4 Jul, 2017

The place is just beautiful and lives up to the name. We travelled from Mumbai and the drive till the resort was just mesmerising. It's a private resort and you have the entire place to just yourself. The rooms were basic but clean, well maintained and very cozy. The bathrooms were nicely done up and have all the required facilities. This place is just stone's throw away from the beach. The room has perfect view to the ocean. Each cottage has private seating area which is amazing. The garden is well kept and a big swing there just adds more charm to the overall stay. The food is fantastic and the caretakers are kind and helpful. I must say, the stay was amazing and I am surely coming back again here. All the best.. You guys are doing a good job!!

Full of ticks, not pet friendly, full of basic problems, exhorbidant cost

Posted 22 Jun, 2017

We purchased this package via Zara Hatke + Saffron stays and let me tell you that these guys only sell you the package and offer absolutely ZERO support in case of problems. So please be careful of websites like that. Since you have already seen the beautiful picture of the property, put up by other travellers, here is the flipside of the story. I'll start with the CONS and then go to the PROS so you can make an informed decision while deciding on this property. 1. Major electricity problems and no backup There is a problem of electricity cuts in this area. They have a generator backup. But as soon as we entered, we realised that the AC wasn't cooling in the room. What we were not told was that the generator was not working and despite knowing, these people didn't do anything about it. That night, the generator kept tripping and the temperature inside the room must have been close to 35 degrees... With the AC on. Needless to say, it was uncomfortable for us who had come there for rest and relaxation. It was only on the second day, towards the evening, that we were told that the generator was malfunctioning and the night before we left, it was repaired. So out of 2 days, 1. 5 days we had to suffer in the heat. 2. Large rooms with disproportionately small Acs The cottage which we stayed in has a super large room which has the AC that cools only when the generator is on. Otherwise it is completely useless. That particular room needs at least 2 ACs to cool it or at least have a properly functioning generator. 3. Place is infested with ticks If you are taking your pet, I have to tell you that the place is crawling with ticks. They were all over the place, like ants. If it is being marketed as a pet friendly place, there should be a proper disinfection or some pest control treatment. The caretaker was spraying the room with mosquito HIT trying to tell us that it would get rid of the problem. But hardly. So, even after Reading this you want to go there with your pet, please carry some tick treatment medicine for your pets. Even their poor in-house dog is infested with ticks and other insects. No support from Saffron Stays. On the way to the property, we got lost so we tried to call saffron stays. Absolutely no support. Just a message saying that we will call you back. (I'm still waiting for that call. I'm guessing they were out on their weekend at the cost of ours. I wasn't given the number of the caretaker. I was given a call center number from which I got no response and a whatsapp number, whose message I am still awaiting. There was no way I could contact the property until the caretaker himself called me asking where we were. 4. Our beers and coke cans got stolen. They have a fridge in which you can store your drinks and alcohol. Our beers and coke cans got stolen. The caretakers told us that the 'other guests' had taken them. The management had made it clear that no one could touch the fridge. Then how was it possible that other guests took our coke cans and beers? 5. No water Last day of our stay, we discovered to our dismay that there was no water in the taps. We were told that it was probably due to the negligence of one of the staff members who had left some tap open. Water is provided by tanker. But this problem was sorted very quickly so I've mentioned it at the end. 6. We were not served any desserts The menu includes desserts. We were not served any because we were given the lame excuse that the boy 'forgot' the dessert packet at the shop. This was preposterous. Only on the last day, after we insisted, the cook made us some home cooked desert. 7. Exorbitant cost considering the above We paid an insane 24, 000 (twenty four thousand) for 1 room for 2 nights only. We were 2 adults, 1 child and 1 dog. (Pet meals not included). But considering the above problems, I'm sure you will agree that this was daylight robbery. Now, let's talk about the PROS. Pretty property It's, undoubtedly, a lovely property. Quaint, private beach front, well maintained and clean. Excellent home cooked food The caretaker's wife cooks some lovely home cooked meals. One meal she forgot to make one vegetable for us and it was only non veg. But I will let that pass since she was an excellent cook. All in all, we tried to have as much fun as possible, considering the problems we faced, since we had paid through our nose for this scaled 'luxurious homestay". It's anything but that and totally not worth all the problems we faced.
