Hotel Highland Reviews

Location of Hotel Highland is good. Just a couple of minutes walk from the car stand the another couple of minutes to the main market area. View from the rooms are fine. I stayed in a ground floor room (Room No. A1) with a good view. It has a small lawn outside. Rooms are reasonably large with bathrooms commensurate to the room size. The bathroom does not have individual geyser, though. Hot water is controlled centrally. It available during reasonable hours of the day (not night). One of the drawback is that it is strictly a vegeterian restaurant. The most common food available throughout the day is bread toast and coffee. Nevertheless, for no vegererian connoisseurs like me, the market place nearby has few non vegeterian joints. The hotel staffs are courteous enough to bring the food items to your room from the restaurants during evenigs. The restaurant is reasonbly large. Food items include alu paratha, bread toast, jam toast, tea, coffee for breakfast. The hotel accepts major debit/credit cards. It is advisable to carry adequate cash as the telephone lines are likely to be damaged during winter making the swiping machines non-functional. Pahalgam has 2 ATMS - the SBI one is near the hotel.
