M C Resort!!! Gosh I am actually nostalgic &out of words to describe this place. It is situated hardly 30 mts from the Bandipur main gate. It has a very beautiful rustic feeling to it. So those looking for things like SPA, crowds, howling kids and lack of privacy can avoid this place. This is strictly for nature lovers. People those who like to wake up & sleep listening to the chirping of birds, calls of wolves, jackals, deer and trumpet of the elephants. There is complete privacy and unlike other resorts there are not much people around so you have the resort all to yourself. We had booked the room for Rs 2000 per head and trust me each and every paise paid off. Details: ME and My buddies booked 3 rooms and paid an advance of Rs 2100 only. We pre-poned our plan and started friday night at 12 pm and reached M C Resort at 5.30am saturday morning. The staff at the reception counter got up @ 5.30am to allot us our room(gosh he didn't even complain that we had arrived before time). . At 6.30 am we went for the Safari ride, came back form the ride at around 8.45 am and after freshening up we had a sumptuous breakfast at 9.00am. No hotel or restaurant can match there food standard ,it's simply finger licking. After having our breakfast we headed for the pool .The pool was extremely clean and there was very less chlorine in it. Then we went for a nap and were woken up by the staff at 3 pm to have our lunch. After the food session we went to the Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta temple. It was long winding ride up the hill but was very exciting. After coming back form there we had a good sports session playing volley ball, table tennis, cricket and our very oldie hide and seek :P. Then at 6.00pm we were served Tea/Coffee/snacks. Then we went for a walk round the resort and on the road adjoining it. At 8.30pm the staff invited us for the bonfire and there we were our very own jingle party. There was no music, nothing fancy, yet there was something enrapturing and vivid. The cool breeze and the warmth form the bonfire, along with the call of the animals and the view of the starry sky ,truly mad e it an outstanding experience. Later in the night we were served dinner and then it was light off for us. Next day,i.e, Sunday we were woken up at 6 am and served Tea/Coffee ,we then started for our nature trek at 7am and it went well over for 1.30hrs. We did catch the sight of wild deer, heard the trumpet of elephant and it all felt very over-whelming. We got back and were served breakfast. At 11 am we checked out. PROS: 1-It has the highest privacy. 2-Very caring and attentive staff. 3-Amazing food. 4-Comfortable bed. 5-Very close to nature. 6-Great value for money. 7-Great place for nature lovers. Cons:(for some people) 1-Doesn't has a SPA(Dude who needs it) 2- Not crowded(not a great place for wannabe's) ..Can't think of anything more. This is the only place which didn't give me a chance to complain and crib. The STAFF--hats off to you guys, you are the most courteous and caring employees I have met so far. The chef-you do know how to cook a meal, amazing job. Do meet Mr Swamy,he was one of our attendants. Man the quickest service so far. My BEST EXPERIENCE SO FAR. I love you M C RESORT.Thank you.
Position of the Resort: First among the private resorts near the Jungle (It\'s Adjusent to the Jungle). Staff: The best. They have a staff assigned to a group of guest, and he takes care of all your needs and they are always there to help you. Thier attitude is outstanding. Cost: Cheapest option among the resorts. Rs. 1750 (including tax) per person is really cheap considering the facilities provided and the location of the resort. It includes * a double room on sharing basis * Foods: Dinner, Lunch and Breakfast- Buffet System (all Veg with one Non-veg curry). Sufficient options with good quality of food. They will also provide tea in evening and in morning with Biscuits. Apart from that you can order other snacks or drinks of your own cost (They are also not costly chicken snacks Rs. 80 and veg snacks Rs40). * Jungle Safari: A two and half hour safari (Govt safari is for only 40 mins) which covered a larger area of the Jungle. This resort is one of the few resorts who have a permission to run their own vehicles for a safari. * Jungle Trek: A nice walk in the Jungle for aroud 2-3 hours with experience guides. Check-in/ Check out time: No fixed time:). You can go there of your convenience and can spend 24 hrs (2-3 hr more also they dont mind) Surrouding of the Resort: Excellent. This resort is adjusent to the forest and you\'ll find lots of trees in the resorts. the area of the resort is aroud 5 acres and only 18 huts excludig one office room and dining hall is built in this huge area. This resort is really spacious. You can find lots of birds there. Night or evening time you can find dear around the resort and if you are lucky, you can find elephants, wild boar and Bisons near the resort. The resort has children play area.
MC Resort is excellently located on the Mysore-Ooty highway and is beautifully developed. Our group of 4, had a very pleasant stay there, on Nov. 1st and 2nd, 2010. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well ventilated. The bathrooms are also very clean and well maintained. As soon as we reached, we were allocated our rooms and were also designated a member of the staff, to take care of us, during our stay there. Anand who was designated to our rooms, was very courteous and helpful. He took care of all our needs and helped us settle down comfortably. He advised us that lunch would be served by 1:30 p.m. The lunch was a simple buffet affair with pickle, green salad, chapatis, veg. curry, chk. curry, fried and plain rice along with daal, rasam and curds. We were also served delicious kheer as dessert. After lunch, we were able to relax and got ready for the Jungle Safari, which was scheduled for 3:45 p.m. We were taken on the Jungle safari, in the resort\'s own jeep. The driver was very knowledgeable of the Bandipur forest, it\'s umpteen tracks and had an eye for tracking. Since we were in a jeep, we were taken deep into the forest, on tracks which were not habituated by the usual Safari Buses. After a solid 2 hr safari, we returned to the resort by 6:45 p.m. We were served refreshments (Tea/ Coffee) and were advised the dinner would start by 8:30 p.m. We freshened up and relaxed on the sit-outs of our rooms. Once darkness descended, the staff built a bonfire in the center of the lodge, which was enjoyed by all. Dinner was again very delicious and was a variation of the lunch. Early next morning, the resort had scheduled a trek, which lasted for a good 2.5 hrs. On our return to the resort, we enjoyed refreshments (Tea/ Coffee) and were given ample time to freshen up. We were then served b\'fast and again had time to relax and got ready to check out by 12 p.m. While checking out, we were gifted with 2 table-top complimentary plaques, by the resort. Overall, it was a splendid time, which we enjoyed @ MC Resort!
On our way to Coorg from Mysore we stayed at MC Resort on 1st June 2014. Our booking for the resort was done through on line portal "Must See India. Com". Initially we were hesitant about the place but the place was really nice & clean, and it gives a feeling of being close to nature. We had booked a cottage in the Resort. The room size was approximately 150 - 180 sqft, small but neat and comfortable with well maintained bathrooms. The room was not very big but I must say it was value for money. At the resort, they have a beautiful swimming pool which was maintained neat and clean. They have a place for camp fire in the centre of resort where we enjoyed campfire in the evening with the fellow occupants in the resorts. The food was really tasty and delicious as it was served as buffet, there were plenty of options to chose from. We enjoyed the nature trek that was arranged by the resort early in the morning. The staff at resort were really helpful and took good care of all the members. I loved the souvenir photo stand gifted by them during check-out The only con as I can say is, the charge they take for the jungle safari of two and half hours. It was 1250 rupees per person. The charge for jungle safari organised by forest department was much less. And spotting a tiger was very rare incident. You can easily locate the plenty of Deer (Chital), Peacock, Bison (Gaur) and Elephants. But to our surprise, we were able to spot a Leopard and that was the really high point of the Bandipur. My advice to travellers will be: Do take a nice camera and good quality binoculars along with you. The memories will be engraved on your mind forever. If you like swimming then pool at resort is very good. We wish all the very best to M. C. Resort management for their future endeavors and we would love to visit this place once again.
MC Resort is the last among a bunch of resorts (Jungle Lodges, Blue mountain and many more) just outside the Bandipur Checkpost, on the way to Ooty. The Owner and the staff are very courteous and helpful. They have a staff assigned to a group of guest, and he takes care of all your needs and they are always there to help you. The resort has around 18 rooms children’s play area, a place for camp fire and a dining area. The rooms aren’t the best, but not something I would crib about. The rooms and bathroom were clean enough to stay, nothing exceptional nor too miserable, just OK. Overall, the resort is clean and litter free. Their usual package of 1750 pppn (per person per night) includes a room on twin sharing, 3 meals + snacks, safari and a early morning jungle trek. The food is something exceptionally superb, I just loved it. It’s a Buffet, all veg with just one non-veg curry. Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, quality and taste of food is top class. This resort is one of the few resorts who have a permission to run their own vehicles for a safari, so you normally end up with a longer safari then you would have with a government run vehicle. Route taken: Bangalore->Mysore-> Nanjangudu-> Gundlupet->Bandipur(towards Ooty) Service: ***** Food : ***** Rooms: *** Overall: **** Places nearby: Himavad Gopalaswamy Hills – around 15Kms Ooty – around 60Kms Waynad – around 80Kms (via Hangala Village) If you are someone looking for a for a much needed break from work and with budget also a priority, then this is the best place. Bigger the group you’ll enjoy this place more, because the resort as such does not have many facilities like swimming pools, gyms, play grounds. Overall, a real value for money deal.
