MTDC Holiday Resort Harihareshwar Reviews
MTDC, provides yet another great resort. It's perfectly located. Being only 1 km. From shrine, is a great thing to have this kind of ultra luxury resort. Costs around 1500 for a room. Restaurant is OK. It provides food, which tastes a bit like home made food. Way better than other private hotels and lodges, in Harihareshwar.
The resort is undergoing upgradation. Sea view cottages are very comfortable with all the amenities. Resort restaurant was in a makeshift arrangement but food was bearable. No facilities for any other activity. Service is OK. If I have a chance to visit the place I will definitely prefer this resort.
The hotel was good. The food served by the hotel was good in variety. The quality of the food was good. The hotel was located nearby the highway. I reached the hotel easily. The room allotted to me was neat and clean. The amenities at the room were in good working condition. The check in and checkout process was not delayed. The garden was there at....Read More
The best part of MTDC Resorts are their location are very prime. When we visited this place I liked the way the rooms are designed and the staircase leads you towards the beach side. However since the rooms were in renovation phase we didn't had a very good experience.
The resort is located on the beach and we were fortunate enough to watch dolphins from the restaurant area. The beach is rocky and not so clean to enjoy. Food in the canteen was good and tasty. Sleep quality and bed material was also good. I would recommend this place if going to Harihareshwar. They have beautiful newly built cottage, it's very....Read More
What you cannot argue about MTDC resorts are their locations -- brilliant. Harihareshwar is brilliantly located, between the hills and a beach that is almost exclusively for the guests. I had visited the property 10 years ago and it was so green and the rooms so nice but this time it was not very good. The Konkani huts were in a sad state, the wall....Read More
We went to Harihareshwar in Sep 2015, along with my cousin's family. We have booked 2 sea view cottages and the experience has been really good. The individual well-kept cottages are just in front of this rocky Harihareshwar beach and the sound of the waves can be clearly heard in the room or balcony, during evenings. Although, not much to do in he....Read More
We quite liked this place, as a good weekend gateway from the humdrum of Mumbai. The drive down is good, early morning even better. Takes around 5 hours from vashi. And yes, Google maps help in case there aren't people on the road to guide. The rooms are quite basic, but enough for a family of 3, with an infant. The A/C rooms were comfortable....Read More
I went to Harihareshwar with my family and friends. We stayed there for around 3 days and it was an excellent hotel with good service. The rooms were good, they look like small huts from outside, but from inside they are well-equipped and clean. Every family had a separate hut and all huts were closeby. The location of the hotel was amazing! It was....Read More
We stayed here in the month of March. The hotel is perfectly located on the beach front of Harihareshwar and at a 10 minutes walking distance from Harihareshwar temple. The rooms were pretty decent and well managed. The staff was very cooperative and provided quick services. We saw some construction work being carried out, the staff said those were....Read More
Top Reviews of MTDC Holiday Resort Harihareshwar
As usual, MTDC has the best spots on the Konkan coastline. The resort is directly on the proximity of the southern beach of Harihareshwar - a beach with black sand and some rocky area for those who hate wriggling in sand :-). The resort offered a choice of a/c and non a/c Konkani huts and a luxurious tent was up for grabs near the beach, though we went by the first option for economy – and also because we had pre-booked it and we were too tired from a bumpy ride from Pune to go through the switching over formalities. The staff is courteous, though you soon forget them when the marvelous view of the sea beckons you from every corner of your room! As the rooms are really close to the sea you can have a free run for the beach by descending the slope anytime and having a swim. Though there are no activities at the resort, there are quite a few explorations to be done around the place – some of them are breathtaking like visiting the Peshwa Smarak through a motor-boat ride, descending the steps from the cliff behind the temple to reach the pounding sea and last but not the least having a feast of the vast unspoiled pristine beauty of the seaside. Overall, a holiday in this resort is a definitely relaxing experience, and there is a atmosphere here that is very different from the one prevailing at crowded touristy places like Gorai or Goa. What more to ask for if a god forsaken place like this reachable with a very bumpy ride can rejuvenate you in a single weekend?
We went to Harihareshwar in Sep 2015, along with my cousin's family. We have booked 2 sea view cottages and the experience has been really good. The individual well-kept cottages are just in front of this rocky Harihareshwar beach and the sound of the waves can be clearly heard in the room or balcony, during evenings. Although, not much to do in here, except 2 beaches and few temples. Food was good but the restaurant was under construction and we had food in a temporary place, not very convenient. Overall, good place to relax with family and friends.
The A/C rooms were comfortable, neat and clean. The ambience is quite. The restaurant is more like a dhaba with chairs laid out. The great part is that the staff is quite helpful and very friendly. Unlike the professional aloofness of hotels. They provide room service at no extra cost. We had 'thali' dinner, with the quality being good and quantity more than enough. Good place for one night weekend getaway!
It was my relaxation trip with family and my stay at this hotel was awesome. The hotel is located conveniently near to the bus stop and was easy to travel. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and professional in service. The appearance of the hotel was very attractive and the room allotted to me was very spacious with all the required amenities in proper functioning condition and had an awesome sea view but there was a bad odour in the room during rainy season. The food provided was really very good both in quality and taste with different varieties. There was no delay during check-in and check-out process and it was done smoothly.
Decided to drive from Mumbai to Harihareshwar suddenly one fine morning. Decent drive - only that a road stretch of about 10-15 kms was horribly potholed. Checked into MTDC - probably the best in the area - could not see anything better in the area. There are a lot of private B&B with signboards declaring \'Approved by MTDC\' - decided not to look into any them, went straight to the MTDC. Had a look at the \'Deluxe tent\' - the most expensive cottage, and the closest to the beach. It was too small, and also infested with too many insects for my comfort. The \'Konkan\' cottage was decent, insect free, except for the bathroom. Bathroom had some of ants - that I decided was ok. That was big decision, considering that I hate the presence of even a single insect in the rooms. And the place is in the middle of almost a forest :-) The guy at the reception was helpful - he had suggested that I have a look at all the room types and then decide. The restaurant was just about 2-3 minutes walk from the room, and the beach another 2 minutes. The place does not look very elegant, but the place is just about ok. The restaurant food of good - possibly because I had lowered my expectations. And the guys in the restaurant were very polite and accommodative to my stringent gastronomical requirements - made stuff to my order, even when it was not on the menu. But prepared to give them a 30 minute notice - they cook after you place the order. Probably faster during weekends when, as I understand, the place is full. I had gone on a Friday, and the place was almost deserted. Beach is definitely serene, and the whole place was divine - with the light sound of the wave and the wind. I was lucky that the place was virtually deserted as it was a weekday. To cut short and summarize - for a place as desolate as Harihareshwar, MTDC is ok - and probably the best bet. But keep your expectations under control.
