Staying in this hotel truly brings out true essence of a Hill station stay! Worth a visit and stay at this hotel as the greenery around the hotel with monkeys walking around you is a experience one can't miss out.

The setting of this resort is actually nice because you feel like you are amidst the jungle. The rooms to look for are the Krishna cottage rooms with excellent setting and warm and welcoming interiors. However if you are travelling for pure adventure and want to spend only the nights at the hotel then it's better to take the ECONOMY rooms which are priced around 1500 bucks. There is an option for a honeymoon suite and reader's room as well.

All bookings are online however if you could not book it beforehand you can call them up and inquire. The restaurant is pretty good and the quantity of food is huge. Also opposite to the restaurant is a body massage parlour and it is definitely worth a try. A deep tissue full body costs about 1200 bucks.

MTDC's Mahabaleshwar resort is in the middle of the forest. The property is about 2 miles from the main market and is surrounded by absolute forest on three sides and a cliff drop on the 4th side.

You need to book the resort in advance as it gets booked very fast. It is recommended that you stay for more than one day to enjoy the resort and Mahabaleshwar as well.

The rooms are large, meaning if you take a Special Suite, it will have 2 bedrooms, 2 huge bathrooms and a lobby along with a balcony where you can enjoy your evening tea. The roof is made of tin and every time a monkey walks/jumps on it you get a fright.

Food is decent. Incidentally this is one of the few MTDC resorts where food is not an issue. You can order almost anything from the menu. It is recommended to let the restaurant know in advance if you want to eat non-vegetarian fare.

Beware of the monkeys as they are everywhere and they will enter your resort in case you keep the doors open.

During the rains the rooms get moist, soggy and cold.

I had travelled around in June 2014 , but unfortunately that was rainy season so did not get time to come outside and visit some points. Rather we were stay in the MTDC room itself. Even in 24 hours rainy condition service offered was too good. MTDC resort was not located under one roof. It segregated according to their types, so once we order something request was fulfilled as early as possible. The food was not much better but you can say it was good .

We were there for the weekend in the month of July during monsoon. The entire town of Mahabaleshwar was covered in Fog with occasional rain. We chose this hotel as the price was very cheap. The rooms were clean and bathrooms tidy. There was no issues during our 2 day stay at this resort. We didn't actually dine in the resort so can't comment on the food quality. Overall this resort was situated a bit away from the town center so you need your transportation to commute. Not many shops or restaurants are available nearby so the only option was to eat at the hotels restaurant. If you are travelling in large party like 6 or more then go for the cottages as they are bigger.

The location of the hotel was very good. It was a very nice hotel as each and every facility provided by them was satisfactory. Service provided was very nice. The staffs were very friendly and quick to attend all the requests. The room allotted to me was very spacious, neat, clean and well maintained. The food was tasty and it was hygienic too. Check-in and check-out was done on time. The speciality of the hotel is that there was a big lawn. It was a very good place to visit.

We were a family group of 12 members including kids and senior citizens. We were on summer holiday trip covering few religious and summer holiday spots. Mahabaleshwar was one of the location we visited. It was absolute marvel and the best experience of our whole trip. The stay at MTDC's resort was one of the most important factors for such a pleasant experience. We booked 3 Premium Suite Rooms through MTDC's online reservation site. We had our own vehicle and arrived at around noon. The whole resort is spread across vast area amidst trees and gardens and will give you a feel that you are in a true forest resort. We liked the location absolutely. It rains in Mahabaleshwar in the evenings and we had wonderful view of the Mist from the Verandah (porch) in front of the our rooms. Though the room type is called a Suite it is actually a very large room (not really a suite with separate sub rooms). The rooms were vast, clean, well maintained with extremely comfortable beds and sofas. We also liked the kettles and coffee makers that were provided. The TVs were very good with option to run our own movies, videos and photos from USB sticks (pen drives). The location does not seem that you are in a hotel or hired place but you will feel that you are amongst the most peaceful place on this earth. You will enjoy the beauty of the nature to the core. It also has excellent play areas for children. The staff were very much courteous and helped us with very good information about the places to visit. The housekeeping was very good and they cleaned it very well. However, none of the staff will be available after 5pm as it is government undertaking. But we hardly felt it was a problem as they already provided all things. There was only one restaurant. It was a little bit away from our rooms (but not too far). However, I am not sure if all the other accommodation types also were nearer to this restaurant. The food offered at the restaurant was good. Most importantly it was affordable. The variety also was good, but I think they can expand the available varieties. But they take too long to take your order and serve. It was so long that it consumes almost 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours each time to finish with your lunch or dinner. What a waste of precious time! This was the only problem that we faced here. Mahabaleshwar is an excellent summer holiday location with lot of wonderful sightseeing places. We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days and found that it was not enough. And the MTDC resort gave us such a wonderful staying experience that I felt we can spend a whole week there and still feel it was less! I think I can just spend 1 whole day only residing the resort without any need to go out for any sightseeing! I suggest travelers to stay for at least 3 to 4 nights and enjoy the beauty and peace this location offers. I also suggest that you have your own personal vehicles for moving about comfortably. Otherwise it may get a little difficult to walk around the distances between the restaurant, room and reception and also for convenient sightseeing. You have the option of engaging local cabs for the whole day.

Very decent place to stay. Cool, silent and beautiful place. Only worry is the transport, you need to pay 200 bucks to every time to go to market for both sides. Clean hotel and well maintained away from crowded area.
Nice view from west end of the resort in morning and sunset evening. Rooms and staff service were very good.

It was a very good hotel. The hotel was conveniently located. It was located a little far from the city. From the airport it takes 2 hours to reach the hotel. The food facility and breakfast was good. The rooms were neat and clean. All the amenities like AC, TV and a geyser were working properly. The Bangtok river view was there from the room. The staff behaviour was good and they attend all the requests on time. No delay in check in and check out. The swimming pool was there and it was good. It was a trip with my wife. This hotel stay was value for money. I would like to recommend this hotel for other travellers. The overall stay was good and no suggestion for improvement of the hotel.

I visited there with my family and it was a relaxing trip. I took my food in the hotel and it was good. They did not provide any indoor and outdoor activity in the hotel. I went there in my own car. Rooms were neat and clean. Services were good.
