The Mahadev Temple is a famous Lord Shiva temple situated south of Aluva, in the Ernakulam District. Various small shrines of Goddess Parvathi, Lord Ayyappa, Lord Vishnu and Lord Ganesha are enshrined within the Mahadev Temple. The popular shrine of Goddess Parvathi is open for visitors only for 12 days in a year. Thiruvathira, a major festival, is organised during these 12 days.
