Great staff and a wonderful stay guaranteed

Going to Hampi in a group of 3, the main question that had bothered us was should we stay in Hospet, or should we stay in Hampi, or should we stay on the other side of the river. Finally, after a lot of deliberation, we decided to stick to Malligi in Hospet for 3 days and 2 nights and in hind sight, it turned out to be a great decision. About Malligi, the hotel is located about 3 km from the railway station and once we reached the place we were really happy with the choice. Right from the check-in, the one thing that we observed was that the staff was genuinely working towards making our stay better. We (3 people) stayed in a Luxury room and apart from having a large and spacious room, there were all necessary amenities. The person at the check-in counter also helped us move our breakfast to the first day so that we could eat something and then start our exploration. The breakfast on both days was good, however, we felt it was almost a repetition, there was very less change. We had dinner at their Blue Mist (Vegetarian Restaurant), which also provided us a bunch of good option for Jain food. Overall, we felt the service was a bit slow, but the food was definitely quite good. We did use their Travel Desk (Hamsa Travels) for one-day, but I would suggest using an auto-rickshaw (tuk-tuk) unless you want to go to Badami. We felt that trip could cover more places in Badami, but it was overall good. Other reviewers have mentioned the Hotel in detail, so I will only stick to the salient points. I would have given them 6/7, but the following things made me give it 7/7 (in fact, I could give them an even better rating if possible). One good aspect I felt was their staff, right from the reception, to bell boys, to the servers at the table, everyone made you feel important and served with a smile. They have this Guest Relation Officer called Manohar, who not only helps you with planning the trips, but also takes feedback at different times in the stay. He also helped us with our auto-arrangement and told us to contact him in case we need anything. Apart from this for us, there were some small points of improvement that we mentioned to him, and we saw he took prompt action. This sort of makes your attitude towards the Hotel very positive. The hidden gem of our trip was Mr. Dada Pir, he was our auto-rickshaw (tuk-tuk) driver for 2 days and he really won us over. Not only did he show us Hampi and Anegundi (other side of the river) and other places, but he took us through beautiful lush green fields, villages and took us to lakes without rushing for time. His positive talk, fun-loving attitude and friendly nature made our trip really special. I would highly recommend him. Not sure if he speaks good English but we managed well in Hindi. The check-out policy: Now, Malligi has a 24-hour check-in/check-out, however, on our last day, we checked-out at 8 am but had our train at 9 pm. The Hotel gave us a basic room for an hour after we came back from our exploration to freshen-up, and that was a BIG PLUS. Overall, we had a wonderful time and both Malligi and Hampi won us over, and we are sure to stay again at Malligi whenever we plan our next Hampi trip.

Great place & warm reception

Great Hospitality & Value for Money. Planning to come back. This was my 2016 first travel. I had booked two rooms for my family on 1st Jan 2016. Right from check-in till checkout, it was managed very smoothly. They have two restaurants - one pure veg open air & other multi-cuisine. Both have an elaborate menu. During my business travel I always stay here & first time I took my family here. They were delighted with the stay & food. Their travel desk is efficient & arrange good cars. Great stay. Family wants to come back here.

Awesome stay with good food & reasonable rate

Stay at Hotel Malligi is one of the best. The hotel staff is quite prompt in service. The restaurants also served marvellous food at reasonable cost. The facilities provided by the hotel is exceptionally good. The green space maintained in the hotel has added to its scenic beauty. Basic facilities are also nearby. The hotel is about 12 km from the world heritage site of Hampi and is a must to stay for travellers visiting Hampi. All a marvellous experience.

Highly recommended, with a lot of suggested improvements!!

Enchanting Hampi, Memorable Vacation, Pleasant stay, but Tardy Services at their Blue Mist Restaurant!! Our Hampi trip was one of the most wonderful ones we have had so far. Hampi, in itself is a world of its own! Words flow like a splendid and gracious waterfall, while describing a trip to Hampi. The temples, monuments, and the architecture have stones, each of which, narrate a story of their own. Coming back to Malligi, the rooms are ok, nothing spectacular, but, worth the price. They have rooms in the new block as well, which looked quite elegant. We were given a room in the old block and unfortunately, couldn't get a change of room, since the entire resort was running full during the week of Christmas. Bathrooms, definitely need maintenance (water clogging was seen often, which was irritating) and the toiletries in there were very basic and nothing exotic. The house keeping staff is yet to be trained well to maintain a tidy atmosphere, not to forget the not-so clean bed sheets and blankets. The pool at Malligi was almost non functional (they claim that Mondays are the non-functional days of the swimming pool) and we saw some maintenance work going during all the 3 days. The front desk is quite helpful at check in and one of the staff provided us with information about the sight-seeing to Badami, Aihole, and Pattadkal an in depth. Do not miss out these three world-class heritages on your visit to Hampi, which itself is a numero uno heritage wonders of the world. Their Blue Mist restaurant is decent and looks quite hep in the evenings. But, lacks in space to beat the tremendous crowd, especially during dinner. We used to get weary of the wait and when we requested the admins, we were led to a basic outlet on the terrace, we had no choice, but eat there, because we were so tired after a long day of sight-seeing. The vegetarian buffet at the Temptations restaurant was just awesome, comprising a wide range of South-Indian delicacies. Get there early, as early as 7 AM in the mornings to beat the crowd or just be satisfied with crumbs of idlies if you are late. The sumptuous breakfast kept us through the day during our daily sight-seeing ventures. There is a mix of Veg and Non Veg food served at the Temptations for lunch and dinner and hence, the veggie crowd stuck with Blue Mist. The services at the restaurant were very tardy and a simple lunch would take you around an hour and a half, not exaggerated. On the last day of our stay, we preferred to have a quick lunch, before starting from Hampi, but the lunch services delayed us to a great extent. However, it is advisable to have lunch (if you are driving back), because the highway is devoided of even small hotels. Beware!! the food (except the breakfast) is really spicy. The resort has its own ups and downs, but definitely, offers a pleasant stay, for Hospet standards. Highly recommended, with a lot of suggested improvements required at their Blue Mist restaurant.

Nice experience

Hotel situated in side city so that useful to shop urgent medicine etc. New building of Malligi hotel has grand look. In booking counter 3 or 4 persons are attending customers, so that booking is quick and easy. Room is very convenient with western type of toilet and 24 hours hot water facility. Over all Best Hotel.
