Mallikarjuna Temple, is one of the religious shrines located in Sitalayangiri. Located at Sitalayangiri point in Baba Budan Giri Hills, the temple is visited by devotees from across the country. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and features a small stream in a sanctum.
Built under the patronage of Harihara Dandanayaka in 1234 AD, the structure stands on a four-foot 'jagathi'. The door of the lintel has a detailed carving of Nataraja surrounded by his disciples.
Tourists frequent the complex for long duration of meditations. Highlighting characteristic of the temple is a spire that is beautiful to watch during sunrise and sunset. The temple is surrounded by gardens at all corners. Moreover, there are various memento stalls in front of the shrine.
Mallikarjuna Temple can be approached, while climbing up the Mullayanagiri hilltop that also features various other shrines.
