Mamalla beach resort is one of the old well located resort. Its not well maintained in aspects of lawns, gardens etc.... but the rooms are good enough though small in size good enough to be compared with the best resorts around... The USP of this resort is the location. A bit far from the town. Ideally located in the beach with good view. Not much of activities but good place to sit and enjoy the sound of the waves .. the waves are high current and not suitable for a swim... better not to get into the sea.... The rooms are located a bit away from the beach and do not have a good view of the sea... the restaurant is located near to the beach and have a good view of the beach. The food is good specially dinner is arranged on Saturday an Sunday .. good buffet with good spread of non veg and veg items. The pool is quite good and well maintained.. The major problem with the resort is staff are not well trained and don't know good English .. communicating is a bit problem.. also better to choose the pool view rooms as the other rooms do not have a good view.
I had a good experience in this hotel. We had sightseeing in Mahabalipuram. Everything was fine. They have a good ambience. They did not provide any pickup and drop. I went there by my own vehicle. Parking facility was provided by them. It was near to the beach. I was able to reach that hotel comfortably without any problem. Hotel was out of the main city. They provided us horse riding also. They gave complimentary breakfast. Food was tasty. Room was neat and clean but not so spacious. There was not much facility in the room. AC, coffee maker, mini-bar, etc. were provided in the room. Beach view was visible from the room. Everything was good only. They had swimming pool and lots of games also. There was no problem in check-in and check-out. I was happy with my room. They provided separate food and they had also separate restaurant. Staff behaviour was helpful and friendly. Location wise, it was very good. Appearance wise, it was good. Booking and front office facility was also good. Service was good. Room and room facility was also good. Food and drink was good. Activity part was also good. Mahabalipuram as a destination is excellent. I travelled there with my family in February. It was a relaxing holiday. Money wise, it was good.
the mamallapuram beach resort is one of the finest resorts i've ever visited .the resort is located between chennai and mahabalipuram a bit closer the latter.we had a very pleasant experience because of pristine surroundings, good maintenance of big beach, focused services, facilities like well maintained rooms ,spacious and clean toilets, wonderfully kept big swimming pool, room services were good ,food and drink hygienic and hot,we had numerous activities on the resort.overall we had cherish-able experiences ever.when we look back we feel like keep visiting.-c.n.ravi kumar.
It was a very enjoyable experience for us. We checked in for 3 days this month (June 2009). The rooms were clean and well maintained. It was very spacious and we had a beach facing room. There is also a swimming pool which is open from 7AM to 7PM. Food prices were surprisingly moderate and NOT as expensive as we thought. Also, they had good variety of seafood. Lunch and dinner buffet was priced at 275 per person and breakfast buffet was complimentary.
Stayed here for 3 days, Pros: 1) Right next to the beach, good access to beach all the time indeed the best part of the place. One can have morning coffee or dinner next to beach. Awesome!! 2) Staff is very courteous and try hard to make your stay comfortable. 3) Rooms are spacious and one can see sea view from balcony but it's mostly blocked by trees. 4) Decent food. Cons: 1) Rooms are in desperate need of renovation, one can see peeling paint, broken things here and there. 2) Dining area (which is open air) can use some fans given in the hot weather. 3) Need to upgrade their billing system, it took lot of time for the person at reception to manually add all our food bills and make a handwritten receipt. Overall it's a decent place and once you are at beach you overlook minor shortcomings. Also the place seems to be very popular with corporate team outings and gets quite crowded during weekends. They have free wifi (for 3 hours/day).
