"You can go but not so good"

  • 4.0/7
  • Posted 3 months ago
You can go there by hiring jeeps ... After reaching mandalpatti they will charge you 25 rs only than they allow you to trek and go to the top .. It takes only 5-10 minutes to reach on the top not so high and after reaching on the top there is one stand from where you can see mandalpatti hills ... Which gives very good view of mandalpatti ... If you want to save 25 rs there is another hill next to that you can trek there same hight same view of mandalpatti only that stand is missing.

"Very bad, don't go"

  • 2.0/7

Everything is negative. Your vehicle is not allowed, Compulsory have to hire local vehicle. No sharing of vehicle cost.

Distance is around 15-16 km. Very rough roads. After certain distance, we will be wondering where is the road? Entire muddy and big boulder road.

After all these pains when you reach, you have to pay Rs 25/- per head for climbing the mountain. And after climbing the mountain, you are very much upset and angry on yourself for wasting all money, time and energy with body ache nothing is there to be seen.

The worst part is there is nothing, not even water for drinking.

If you planning to visit Coorg you must visit Mandalpatti. You have to pay 10 Rs for entry. View is awesome. It is 360* view. Very difficult to reach this place by car. Road is very narrow and not good. You have to hire 4 wheeler jeep from base camp it will cost around 700 Rs.

"Off road adventure"

  • 6.0/7

Mandalpatti is 14 kms far from Kushalnagar, Madikeri. This place is a viewpoint which en route is completely a treacherous off road trail. Advisable to use local jeeps which is minimal in cost too. Bikers can climb up to the top on their own risk. Only fee collected there is for your vehicles Rs 10 for 2 wheelers and 20/30 Rs for 4wheelers. Climb at the day time to enjoy the scenic beauty from the top of the view point.

Best place in Coorg to visit. The hills are so beautiful and wind flow would be very high. You will feel as if you are here for a film shoot. Keep your camera batteries saved for this place. Lived it.

"Best place in Coorg, must visit"

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted Jan 3, 2016
If you want to experience nature in its virgin, untouched and enormous best, this is the place to visit. Only jeep can ferry you to this spot which surprisingly isn't too far from Madikeri. One of the most popular tourist destination at Coorg famous for its Ooty like climate.

Don't miss to witness the sunrise here. A small walk to the top of its highest peak will blow you away, literally. Extremely windy even in December, don't forget to carry your jackets, pullovers and warmers. If you are the photographer type, you would be super busy with so much to capture. Landscape, valleys, sunrise, you will be spoilt for choice.

"High and Green"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Dec 28, 2015
A little far from Madikeri, this place is the ultimate attraction Coorg has to offer. Although we were not allowed to take our Tavera to the spot as the terrain can only be endured by high power jeeps according to localites. We felt it was just a gimmick so we rented a jeep and payed them so money but soon after reaching the vast open meadows we totally forgot about it and couldn't help wake up the child inside us. It was so fun running up and down the hills and appreciating the green carpet of trees from the peak.

"Breath taking views"

Just another scenic beauty to add awesomeness to Coorg. Jeep drivers may ask you to take jeep far behind the place touting bad roads ask you to shell 2000 bucks but one reach till the entrance gate and then also you can walk to the hill to enjoy the scenery on 3 to 4 kms. You would find many hills nearby and go up there. Reach early to explore the high hills but drive carefully.
