Spend your time within nature calm and quite Mandarin is your destination. Manager and staff are very much cooperative. Everything is user friendly. Excellent hospitality, superb place, superb view of mountains, good food. The rooms offered a good view of the Kanchenjunga. The staff are friendly and offered good service. The restaurant provides tasty food though little bit costly. The rooms are well maintained. Their in house restaurant serve good quality food at a decent price. The rooms are well decorated and at the same time is very well equipped with the necessary facilities. Mandarin becomes really special because it's terrific Sikkimese hospitality. The interior of the room is decent and toilets are clean. Overall mandarin is an ultimate destination on the lap of nature. Excellent resort.
I have planned my honeymoon in Mandarin Resort, in the lap of Kaluk ranges. The resort is beautifully located in the slide of the range. Seperate cottages are available. Cottages are all faced towards a unknown range which is situated just next to this range. This range is a range of Pelling and behind this great Kanchanjangha resides. If weather are preferable and not cloudy one can see Kanchanjangha peak from his cottage king size bed. The balcony view is superb. We have travelled in the mid of February, though in the day time temperature is quite bearable but, night is terribly cold. We have not planned in the beginning to take a room heater but, at last we have taken it at a rate of 300 per day. The resort have vehicle for pick and drop facility for sightseeing. The resort itself have a view point just laying down few step from the resort. Market place are not available nearby, so for food you have to depend on the resort cafeteria. A small market available but only with 10-12 shop. Bur only food available there is chow Mein, nothing else. Cottage sometime arranges bonfire though we have not got that at our duration. Overall the space is nice for comfortably stay but a little bit costly.
Mandarin Village Resort at Kaluk, West SikKim is set amidst the mountains and offer clear view of the Kanchenjunga peaks from the balcony of the room. A must visit and this resort is one example of virgin beauty Sikkim boasts of. Rooms are comfortable, food is excellent though there is scope of improvement in the services and cleanliness. Check-out took us one hour which was really tiring. Overall a place to weekend visit, as there aren't much activity to do, but if you looking for relaxation and sipping the nature beauty, this is a place to be.

This place is located in West Sikkim and it is an awesome place to visit. The scenic beauty is mind blowing, especially when Rhododendrons blooms in April time. This resort is facing the Kanchenjunga. Everything was very nice about his hotel and Sikkim. Well behaved staff very helpful in a homely atmosphere. The cottage type accommodation was neat and clean, affordable for tourists. The food was very nice served in the dining hall. Everything was very nice. The hotel provided all modern amenities for a comfortable stay. The booking was done over the phone on searching the website of the hotel where the phone number was given. Pick up from Siliguri was provided by the hotel. I visited this place with my family for relaxation and sightseeing in April 2014.
There was a beautiful view of Kanchenjunga from the resort. The resort was very good. Location and appearance were excellent. Booking and front office was very good. Overall services were very good. Food was excellent in taste. Room condition was excellent. Camp fire, garden, dicso, etc all were there in this resort and they were excellent.
On returning from Varsey Rhododendron Sanctuary this April, I decided to stay one day at Kaluk, West Sikkim. It's 2 hr journey from Hilley and 5 hr journey from Bagdogra. As Kaluk is a new destination, I was little bit hesitant about the quality of the resorts. But after staying at Mandarin Village Resort, I'm completely bowled out and in love. An excellent resort spread over a few acres of land. It's a green resort with pine, lemon trees, rhododendron and it's own nursery. Lush green is there to welcome you. Stay in the cottages like Citron-1, 2, 3 or Pomello-1, 2, 3 and enjoy the ravishing beauty of Kanchenjungha. You can touch them from your balcony as well as bed. Take your favourite book, recline on the chair and spend the whole day in a quintessential beauty of the place and resort. The cottages are basic with every amenities like hot water, coffee maker, tv, power back up and the food is also yummy. The restaurant is beautifully located with an open rooftop sitting arrangement. They have room service on request. We were bid adieu with 'Khadas' by the jovial manager Prashant who himself came to apologize us and handed over a candle as the resort was going to stop the long running generator at night. Kaluk is exceptionally beautiful and Madarine Village Resort can make your stay a memorable one.
The Mahendra resort (Royal Demazong)at Gangtok looks like a ancient Sikkimies palace and one gets royal service from the staff at the resort. The room was spacious and well kept and had a beautiful view of the mountains. The breakfast and dinner buffet had a very wide spread and tasty too.
