voted as clean

Mandarmani Beach is among the popular attractions of the coastal town, which extends up to 13 km. The beach is counted among the longest motorable beaches in India.

Positioned at a drive of 3 hours from Kolkata, the location is frequented by tourists to view beautiful sights of sunset and sunrise. Red Crabs on the shore are one of the highlights of the beach.

"A lovely experience"

We planned for a weekend trip to Mandarmoni Beach, West Bengal. The Beaches are very much clean. You get food to eat nearby the Beach. Shops selling Handicrafts such as Bags, Ornaments made of bamboo and all. For foodies there you will get fresh fishes. Water sports arrangements are present such as jetski and ATV to ride on the beach on good rates. You can see Red crabs. We just Love the experience over there.

"scenic mandarmani"

Most visited Beach in West Bengal at a low cost. Walking at the beach during sunrise/sunset is an awesome feeling. Can take van-rickshaw to go to the Mohona where you can see Red Crabs. A very pleasant atmosphere during sunset. Plenty of hotels are there and during off season you can get rooms at very cheap rate. One must carry medicine as there are no medical stores around.

"Perhaps one of the top 10 biggest beach in the World"

  • 6.5/7
  • Posted Feb 14, 2016
Mandarmani Beach without doubt is the biggest beach in India. It is so vast that you cannot see from one end to the other (East West Direction). If properly developed by Indian Government it will give the best beaches of the world a run for their money. You can conduct all activities possible and also conduct car and bike races.

"Bad location and ill behaviour of people out there"

  • 5.0/7

It's been a nightmare, the location is very bad. Bad smell all around. Bad service, behaviour is very very bad, so the services. The foods are not good. Smell of Shutki Fish, it's like entering your nose and tearing it apart. Ill-behaviour, is like they don't care you are a customer.

"Beautiful sea beach, not much crowd and resort literally on sea bed"

  • 4.5/7

Totally worth a visit, I am going to visit once again. I visited it with my friends and its 160 Kms from Kolkata. 100 kms from Kol would be a butter ride but after that not much of a comfort ride. But once you reach the destination it's all about resting there. Don't go with an impression of having fun in the beach. It's a place to just sit and relax, have a booze with friends that's it.

I love the place for weekend chill and away from hustle bustle. A great and awesome place to chill close to the city. An ideal family spot with fun, thrill and excitement.

"Fantastic weekend destination"

  • 6.0/7

Mandarmani is one of the finest weekend destination in West Bengal. The best way to go there is by Car or by Bus (from esplanade). It is full 'paisa-vasool'. Maximum of the resorts are near beach and you can enjoy the beauty of sea by sitting at the balcony of those resorts. Only one problem is load shedding as many of the resort still have only generator system as electricity haven't reached that place, but seating near sea beach enjoying that sea-air and having beer is heavenly feeling.

"Ideal place for Weekend Break"

  • 6.0/7

A comfortable 3 hour drive would take you to this haven a clean, beautiful and serene MOTORABLE Beach. YES, the Beach was a pleasure that I can't put in words. Not very commercialised you will find some quaint resorts dotting the Beach. Our resort arranged for a small bonfire for our group by the Beach which was amazing.

Water Sports are also there and you can bargain on their rate card. The Red Crab Area is a must visit although they will hide as soon as we drive close to them. Beware of driving beyond the recommended limits on the beach, your Car may get stuck in the sands!

"The fest treat in the Ocean"

  • 6.5/7
  • Posted Jan 7, 2016
It was after the college fest that we all club members of NIT Durgapur decided to visit the place. We all started in the bus at night and reached the place in the morning at 8. Let me tell that the moment I stepped down it was like wow!

The whole place was covered with fog and we travelled up to the Beach to see it and the view was mesmerising. We returned back to organize our stay. We booked a hotel (the hotels are cheap if you just want them for keeping luggage and getting freshen up) and after that we ate breakfast which was also at a very nominal cost. Then what it was the time to kick off for the Ocean which was very active with waves and with a group of 20 people you can enjoy like hell. Apart from that it has a many other sport activities like Paragliding which is very good and some rides like the Banana ride which is nice but I fell from it in the middle.

Advice: Try Bargaining as much as possible for the rides like if they ask for 200 you begin at 50 and eventually he will come down to 100, that's the trick.

Rest of the place is very nice. If you have a large group you can stay over night and have bon fires near the sea. All the best!
