the Kolaba fort which is around 700-800 meters away from the beach is walkable during low tide.....tide timings approximately are 3pm to 6pm its definitely low tide n morning time around 12pm is definitely high tide.... at the fort itself there are some amazing views of the sea and otherwise just ancient broken down architecture n one beautiful temple..... try ur best to go to the beach during low tide so u cn walk 2 the fort as it is more fun rather than taking a horse cart ride which charges 160 for two ppl for a return trip and a hour of time at the fort itself... nothing to shop as such but things are cheap there..... there's even one big reebok showroom with gr8 discounts

Hotel Review of Jogalekar Cottage
Comments: the over all experience was good...the joglekar cottage is very remotely located...therefore its better if u hv ur own vehicle. the rates of rooms are affordable..(700 per person 4 delux rooms). rooms r wel 2 do...n comfortable...wit tv, 2 fans, a huge bed, n a bath tub 4 a chnge...rooms r wel maintained...service is good...n enough privacy is given...food served is very good...spclly sea food...u get fresh fish....it feelz being at home...food is not lavish but is good in taste...the awas beach is a very lonely beach..nt many visitors r seen...its nt tht beautiful either...its a bit filthy....but the kihim beach n the kashid r beautiful beaches...this place is quite far away from alibaug city...they cottage ppl do provide swings, cards, carrom, etc. there r diff caged birds...n thr is an aquerium near the center room(dinning room)...thr is also a swimming pool...bt its 2 small..they have tried to put in may thngs but the placement of thngs is nt planned...but the rooms, room service and food is 2 good...n worthwhile :-)
Best Experience: best was==>
kihim n kashid beach,
food at the cottage spclly fish food,
n our roon in the cottage,
also the terrace of cottage..nice place 2 relax,
n the mango trees n the amount of mangoes fallen in the cottage area...my husband was overwehlmed seeing so many mangoes scattered all over the ground....
Worst Experience: awas beach is nt that interesting,
2ndly....the place is far off from alibaug city

Hotel Review of Jogalekar Cottage
The Jogalekar cottage is only about 4-5 minutes walk from the Awas beach. The beach itself is a 10 km stretch lying between the more popular beaches of Kihim and Mandwa. Its hard to stay if I liked the Jogalekar cottage - I had a fun time staying there for sure, but I don’t think any of it had much to do with the place itself. It is a property owned by a couple who have tried to put too...
