Manu Temple Overview

Ranked 9 of 50 sightseeing in Manali

Manu Temple is believed to be the only temple of Manu in India, who is considered as the creator of the human race on earth. Located at a distance of 3 km from the main bazaar in Old Manali, the temple is believed to be the abode of Manu, the ancient law-giver of India.

Its close connection with the seventh incarnation of the sage is due to mythology that states his saving the Vedas and the seven sages from inundation during the great flood.

Folklore points to the fact that subsequent to the great flood, Manu landed at Manali and made the place his abode. Greasy pebbled sandstone trails mark the path that needs to be covered on foot to reach the temple.

Manu temple

Manu temple is one of the oldest temple in Manali. It is on walking distance from mall road. May be about 5km. My advice is you travel in Manali on foot. Because so that you can explore more. And parallel you will save money. Always have snaks and water with you. Manu temple would be a great place to see old architecture. And there culture.

The proud feeling

You take a walk to this. It is a little inclined but I guarantee you that the experience would be worth your tiredness. You will, if lucky, find a black street dog who is like a guy who pushes you to go up faster. He won't bite but he will make you think that he will.

A lifelong memory

I had a Great experience just because of HolidayIQ. Enjoyed a lot at the pond, the architecture of the temple is old, but it's the best I have ever seen. The place is soo beautiful as it connects Himalayan to Manali. The market is amazing, it leads to Solang Valley, you should visit at least once and trust me, you will never regret!!

Include if you have enough time at Manali

It is nice temple to visit and include if you have time at Manali, if you are on short trip I won't recommend this place to be included. However the way to reach the top is not easy try walking if you want to include trekking part of your journey.
