Munnar is located at nearly 4500 ft.above sea level. We visited in November 2014. It's really wonderful experience. Can't forget... Hotel is on top view location nearly to sightseeing points and 3 km. far from main market. Problems created only with conversation with staff. They don't able to understand even Hindi and disorder the arrangement
Overall experience in the hotel was good. The hotel was located in a convenient place. I travelled in our own vehicle. The rooms are well maintained with amenities like TV and the geyser in working condition. The appearance of the hotel was good. Staff service in the hotel was good. I had food outside and restaurant facility was not available. I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights with my family. There was no delay while check in and check out. I booked the room through a travel agency. There are no activities in the hotel. My hometown is Chennai. It is value for the money paid and recommendable to other travellers. Parking facility was available.
Did not find any difficulty use the google navigator and reach there. Stayed there for only one day. Staff is good. Rooms were spacious, neat, clean and well maintained but sometime the power problem was there. Everything in the room was in good condition. All amenities were in working condition. Good view from the room. Food was good, it was a buffet system. Gym was there but did not avail that since we were in hurry. They approach sight seeing but we arrange our own sight seeing trip. Suggestion is that they should provide travel facility.
Overall experience at the hotel was fine however hotel is conveniently located and no problem in reaching the hotel. We reached late night but no food was available at the hotel, hence we had dinner outside the hotel. We went by our own vehicle for sightseeing. Appearance of the hotel was good and rooms were spacious, neat and clean with all operational amenities. There was a view absorbed behind the hotel but no refreshing activities. No issue in billing and the pay is worth for the stay. I recommend this hotel for others too and this was a family trip went for relaxation purpose in January 2013. I suggest taking care for the customers who come late night.
The great thing about this place is the feeling of safety which is most essential when out on a new location. A fine place for retreat and group activity. Food has to be ordered in advance and it is average. Being near to the city one can drive down for ones choice. Travel to local places of interest is great. On a whole Munnar is a place worth driving around enjoying God's great creation.
We stayed with family in the hotel during April. Neat and clean hotel for budget travellers. you got parking for vehicles, small children play area, restaurant, and partial tea garden view from some of the rooms. Forest dept garden is walkng distance. Hotel is very good for family stay.
I was planning a relaxed holiday for some time. I was toying the idea of visiting a hill station during the summer. I had scheduled my holiday, would be a welcome relief. The prospect of spending time in a commercialised centre like Udhagamandalam or Kodaicanal was not at all appealing. Two destinations fitting the bill came up, Yercaud and Munnar. Considering the proximity aspect Munnar was preferred. My friend who accompanied me arranged to reserve our stay at the Mar thoma retreat. This resort owned by the Mar thoma church of Kerala is a very cosy resort located on the Mattupetty road on a sylvan strip of land thoughtfully landscaped to lend a pastoral appearance. The rooms are reasonably well appointed and offer a breath taking view of a valley below sometimes shrouded in a wispy mist. Hot water provided round the clock added to our comfort as also the comfortable bed and the clean linen. The restaurant a rather compact affair offers healthy and hygienic simple fare. The tea they served was indeed excellent and cheered us up enough on cold mornings to start another day. The local offers ample opportunity to explore including a beautiful garden, a quaint market and winding paths through verdant tea gardens. It would be appropriate to carry umbrellas and all weather shoes as Munnar has a habit of surprising the traveller with sudden showers round the year. The staff are very courteous and make you feel at home.
We arrived Munnar in the week end for which it was very hard to get a nice hotel. One of my friend suggested to stay there and we checked in. The room was very airy, nicely decorated and cozy in a very calm environment. In the morning when we took view from balcony it was marvellous. The lawns, flower gardens in front of retreat was nice .Marthoma Retreat Home in Munnar has one of the best breath taking panoramic views of misty mountains and evergreen plantations that stretches across the horizon. The hotel is beautiful, colurful, clean and the staff is well mannered and helpful. The rooms are clean, decent and have two options - road facing and mountain facing. The only drawback is to get transport to proper city area is a little bit difficult.
An ideal retreat from the hustle and flurry of a city life, Munnar don't seem to have a parallel. And if its going to be for a business conference rest assured this is the place for all your creative thoughts to bloom to your firms advantage. The bright flowers coyly welcoming you at the entrance of the retreat indicates the comfortable weather during this time of the year. A decent and comfortable hole with spacious rooms that has a TV, I got a room on the ground floor facing the road. The low balcony opened out to a narrow kids play area that was paved with gravel. The bathroom though small had a separate wet area and with the necessary amenities. There is no regular restaurant but for those who require food is available on order and there is a dining hall where one can dine relishing the natures beauty outside with the sloping hills dotted with workers houses in the background. Obliging service with neat linen will be to your satisfaction. The retreat has a conference hall for conduction official business. The tariff card reflects the rate as Rs 2200 for a deluxe room but you do get the animated shouts of children playing out all free of cost.
Hotel was looking very neat and good of flower plants surrounding and child play games.
A good holiday we had at this resort, good food ,good room and also very good activities in the evening, View from some of te rooms are stunning and also from restaurent Worth a visit
