We went for an honey moon trip to Alleppey. We stayed for a night in this resort.Rooms and locations is superb. Food and service in their restaurant was good.Over all it was a good experience. we enjoyed the beach resort and night stay. rooms were clean and nice.
Maria Heritage Homes is a wonderful property located right next to paddy fields. Even though they call it a homestay, it more of a resort, or rather, a 'palatial home'. My wife and I had been to this place in August 2012. We stayed there for two days. Although located a bit far from the main city, we found the location to be great. Calm and serene. Thee moment we entered the property, we felt that we are being offered much more than what we have paid for. The entrance is enchanting. There are gardens and walkways all around. It is a huge property. We stayed at the main building. All rooms are provided with an AC. The interiors of the home are really done very well. Lots of antiques and oriental hangings. The rooms are equally beautiful. Bathrooms were spotless and well decorated - typical Kerala style - open air. Their kitchen itself made up of four rooms combined..Phew !!! During the time we spent there, the owner had been out of station. Mr. Joseph ( if I remember the name correctly ) was the only person there to attend to us in that big house. We used to spend late nights in the garden outside feeling like owners of this place. Being a homestay, we were surprised to see the facilities they offered. Badminton, carrom, a small library and a very well maintained garden. We thoroughly enjoyed played badminton for more than an hour - thanks to our driver who turned up late at our check-out. There is a church next to this place where some parts of the movie - Ek Deewana Tha have been shot. More than the sightseeing at Allepey, we enjoyed our stay at Maria. The breakfast that is included with the room tariff was delicious. The only thing that the owners need to look at is price of the meals. At Rs. 350 per head per meal, we felt its a bit over prices. The food however lovely(veg as per our preference). Overall, it was an amazing experience staying at Maria. Would definately want to visit this place again. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Allepey.
We loved the experience of going to Allepey. The place is just toooooo good. The vast expanses of green paddy fields is very soothing on the eyes. Since we had a toddler with us, we opted out of staying in a boathouse and stayed at Maria Heritage. Though we had the time to stay only a day there, we loved the place. Its a very well maintained and beautiful place. And it was beside the river Pampa. Overall experience was awesome.
