Property is good previously run as marigold hotel Booked the property through Goibibo for two nights . 1. While checked in room lights and balcony lights not working . 2. Used condom and packets were in hotel table drawers When attention of Arun was asked he said asked the franchise promoters we are just taking care of reception. During two days stay light were not repaired after repeated attempts 3. On 21st there was no buffet breakfast as committed by Goibibo. As per Arun posed as manager FO, only three occupies are there so buffet can't be served. From menu h3 and manage FB denied everything except idly, juice, eggs & corns . 4. Issue was raised with Goibibo as Arun was not ready to listen and GM Manoj Dev was too busy to attend . 5. Next day on 22nd BF was OK . 6. Issue was raised with Goibibo for refund of one BF charges and somebody shushil attended and when asked to Arun Kumar, he said you wish to stay or not we have management instructions to serve this kind of BF only . 7. He refused to give tax invoice and FO assistant Rankaj said we don't issue tax invoices and he is not aware that GST has been charged or not. After the intervention of Goibibo tax invoice was sent by mail Over all good hotel but under maintained with untrained or especially trained staff to behave like this with 100% responsibilities. No value of money and Goibibo has no control over property.
It's a nice stay at Marigold Sarovar Portico 19 km from Shimla closer to Mother Nature. Awesome property, excellent view. Hospitality is too good and over and above the food is yummy. The rooms are very comfortable and cosy. Staff is courteous & polite. Beautiful resort worth visiting again.
Having to travel up North from Chandigarh twice a month pertaining to needs of our research on Himalayan Folk we stumbled at The Marigold Holiday Cottages around January this year, and it's been more than our transit abode ever since The whole premises is heartwarming welcoming as you drive into it. It gives a sense of belonging every time you're there. Being from Upper Mountainous Michael we spent our childhoods in houses made of stone and wood, the same warmth transpires from the walls of the cottage. Yes, as the name tells us, they are fully functional cottages breathing like organisms The independent structures, classic furniture and embellishments are handpicked to enrich the experience of the travellers and tourists alike. And, the whole premises is catered to state of the art maintenance with utmost dexterity Excellence would be an understatement when we talk the services we are pampered with. First and foremost we always love the way the sense of ownership is inherited to us by the staff upon our arrival, then comes the cheering aspect of glistening bathrooms with unlimited supply of warm and cold water. The richness of the food (especially Indian and Chinese, they try their best with the Continental cuisines much the same). The comfort of woven mattresses and linens rendered to a pleasant fragrance is delightful. The apartment we stayed in was a duplex with the kitchen ventilated and well separated from the exquisite living area. Heat is something you need during the chilly winters and it taken care of with pillar heaters with unhindered supply of electricity as the power cuts are abridged by electricity generators. (Actually, central heating would have been a better option, if it was fitted during its construction, nevertheless you are always beaming with warmth) The surroundings are peaceful as is the premises, (I'm always writing as my partner plays Beethoven). And luxurious at the same time with the room servicemen always holding the edge of their seats waiting for the push of your button. Our hiking spirits were quenched the moment we stepped out to the picturesque trails of Craig Nano and Naldehra It's joyous, it's rejuvenating every time we are there. Plus, I should not forget to mention that description on the website was done under oath. Its truest to its minutest detail. You can easily rely on the pictures they have posted So much to the serenity of our first experience at Mashobra, we never miss a chance to go back even it inhibits our schedules, such is the magnetism the cottages with hold. It's a crime to come to Shimla and not stay here. It is inspired, but we call it out Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
I booked this property last minute through Agoda. Com, as nothing was available in Shimla, We drove from Delhi with 2 families including small kids. It is not in Shimla, but 45 min drive away towards narkanda. I bet, You will not be able to locate this resorts in your first go, as I had to roam around turns twice the same stretch. Not sure why hotel doesn't want to put up a decent sign board at road. It will not show up on the road as it is away from road side. Hotel land line is for name sake as they don't pick up the phones even if it rings. Strange !! And there is no Mobile signal at their front desk. It is out of the world. Good if you don't want to be disturbed by calls I booked through Agoda. They confirmed my booking by mailing the booking confirmation Id etc, which I had in my hand when I reached there front office, to my surprise they had no clue of my booking, and simply refused, saying that it is an issue of Agoda, as they did not confirm my booking. I tried calling Agoda. Com to seek help, they do not have any local India helpline, so I had to call UK numbers on ISD, 07 times to report the matter. Agoda tried to call the hotel reception, but land line did not work as usual, I tried to make Agoda speak to Hotel reception on my Mobile, but at front office there is no network coverage, so finally, I asked the manager, to climb the hill will me to go to a point where Mobile works. Finally at 7 PM in evening, manager showed some mercy and managed to offer 2 rooms, of lower category than what I had paid for. I had an option to go back to Shimla, but after a day of long drive with tired an hungry small kids, I did not have guts to go back and search for a hotel again. So I thanked the manager and accepted the room offered. There were 2 more families waiting at reception, as they were also overbooked. Pity, they had to go back to some other hotel possibly Hotels service and food is good enough to make our stay pleasant but they don't have any outdoor activities like barbecue, bonfire etc. It goes deserted right after the evening as you have no reason to be outside of your room. I went to Chalets Which is 15 min drive ahead of this hotel to have our dinner. They organise beautiful barbecue and Bon fire This resort is a Jain place so eggs, non veg is forbidden. There are monkeys, so better watch out for kids, playing out alone Call it as hotel, or Agoda, but they spoilt the mood, I referred the matter to Amex disputes demanding refund for the difference of the category of room I booked and what was actually offered. No refunds as Agoda said. I Was offered a room at least. It is a shame. At least I will not recommend anyone. Do call hotel to conform your booking in peak seasons. Always. Don't trust on websites
Away from Shimla's clutter; still very much near, about 10 km away, an upcoming paradise. About 3 km from Mashobra village, on a hilly contour lies the resort. 6 rooms and 6 duplex double beds are presently ready. More rooms are going to be added. Rooms are well furnished, best linen, spacious bathroom, and big balcony in duplex bedrooms. For duplex there is an added living room with attached private garden behind. Simply marvelous. Living room has an office table with chair, a dining table with 6 chairs, sofa cum bed. Big French window opening in garden. YES a private garden with garden chairs and a table, great for leisure seating. Landscaping of full resort is more then beautiful. Main common garden had children's play activity area too. House keeping and room service were great even though all 12 rooms were occupied. Most reasonable rate and top quality food with very courteous staff was the experience from the restaurant. Ah! Yes and the resort is PURE veg . . Since the resort is still under construction, leisure activity was missing. We all three couple were sorry to leave the resort only after two night stay.
Site of total is excellent well writhing natural's beauty; the staff of hotel are very cordial and helpful. Service is also very good, in spite of quite distance pound the city even then we enjoy too much it was adventurous is stay there wittered very safe for children, good memorable stay at this hotel . . All possible face line are available, room me very constable. There is example of clean lens of room and a ride the sir hikes pool is all quite maintained. The greens around the cottage are good. We were altogether hike six adults are three children. All system is most available purpose system less most wonders. Staff in the hotel are cooperative and the hotel offered good service .
Everything was normal and satisfactory in the hotel. Food was available in this hotel it was mouth watering and only veg. Food was available in this hotel. Hotel was very neat and clean. Location of this hotel was not comfortable it was located at on hill area. Hotel staff was very well. Outside look of this hotel was good. Room was very neat, clean and furnished. Room was facilitated with TV, geyser, bed, fan, blanket, pillow, etc. AC was not required because there weather was very cool. Mountain and other nice view were missing from the room. Check-in and check-out process was very flexible. I liked this hotel very much. Hotel was fully worth money paid. They did not arrange any type activity. But they should be provided activities in this hotel. I will recommend this hotel for other travelers. They should be arrange a van for up down because it was located at hill area. I went there with my friends group in July 2013. Basically I belong from Gurgaon city.
