About Markanda

The small town of Markanda is located on the left bank of Vainganga River and is named after Markandeya, a popular sage. The town has many temples and is quite popular for the ‘Shiva Linga’ that was once worshipped by Markandeya. The construction of the twenty-four temples gives it the impression of the Khajuraho Temples.  This town is worth a visit for the lots of traditional attraction, art museums, its cuisines and many more attractions.

There are more than two dozen temple among one of them is Markanda. It would be great if you do a lot of temple visits. Architecture did remind me of Khajuraho Temples. It is about more than 150 kilometer drive from Nagpur. I particularly didn't like it that much.
