About Martyr's Memorial (Monument)

Martyr's Memorial is a historical site, which is located right outside the Secretariat building in Patna. It is a life size stone statue of the seven brave students or martyrs, who gave their lives in order to ignite the Quit India movement in 1942. The foundation stone of the statues was kept by the first governor of Bihar, Shree Jairam Das Daulatram on 15th August 1947.

The seven martyrs that are showcased in this monument are namely Umakant Prasad Sinha, Ramanand Singh, Satish Prasad Jha, Jagatpati Kumar, Devipada Choudhry, Rajendra Singh and Ramgovind Singh.
