My husband and I decided on a visit to Matheran during the Christmas holiday. We took the Karjat fast local from Mumbai for Neral and booked a taxi from Neral to Dasturi Point. If a 100 bucks more dont matter then I would recommend booking the entire (5 seater) taxi as it is much faster and comfortable. The time was ripe for our Weekeng Gateway and we we drove off to Matheran from Navi Mumbai. The road map was with us and we reached our destination i.e. Dasturi Naka in 2 hours. One needs to keep on moving straight from Panvel .The drive itself was very relaxing with the roads well maintained .
