"Go for a boating"

  • 6.00/7
  • Posted 1 month ago
It is a small dam with boating facility, you can drive your vehicle through the Dam. There is a boating area near the dam, 1 hour will be sufficient to visit this place and is about 13 kms away from Munnar.

Small but beautiful dam pure water covered both side with forest. Boating facility is an added attraction for children. Only issue is too much crowded during season and no place to park the vehicles.

Very nice dam at nice place. Very good climate specially in winter and rainy season. Eye catching sights which will force you to stay there for longer. Small small shops are also there to buy small small stuffs. This place is not too far from the city and easily reachable via roads.

Comes along the way to echo point. It's nice dam with good view. You can stop for few minutes and take few snaps and proceed further. No one needs to waste more time.

"Speed boating in Mattupetty Dam was exciting"

  • 6.00/7
  • Posted 3 months ago
Speed boating in Mattupetty Dam was exciting for our family especially my kid loved it. Good water level even in summer like April month. It was real fun place. Please take the 30 minute boat ride which will cover almost to the end of dam - we were lucky to see a herd of wild elephants drinking water just near us. Two baby elephants escorted by their parents was a delight to watch.

"Visit the dam on a sunny day!!"

  • 7.00/7
  • Posted 3 months ago
I have visited the dam when we went to Munnar for honeymoon. It was spellbound experience where you will find a dam midst of mountains that too in hill station!!

You will agree that Munnar is god's own country where you will find deep valleys with green mountains and running clouds.

You will enjoy the beauty for sure. You can find lot of regional fruits and vegetables and also lot to shop at a very reasonable prices. You will find vendors with pure Ayurveda materials which can be 100% guaranteed of purity.

"Have a long walk, boat and horse riding and homemade chocolates"

  • 6.00/7
  • Posted May 14, 2015
Its part of Munnar city tour on the way to Top Station. The dam and the reservoir are well maintained and you can always see some gates open in the dam but don't expect a mesmerizing view as gates are small. One can take a long walk through the lightly dense trees and go near the water, dip your legs and sit. The place would be crowded but it was a nice scenery to see the water between the mountains. There was a speed boat ride which costs Rs. 500 (for the entire boat) per ride & they close the sale of boating tickets at about 4. 00 to 4. 30 in the evening. You may buy homemade chocolates here costing 90-140 rs per 250 grams. You can try horse riding at 50 rs or for photo ops.
