This was my first visit to Madikeri after 15 years, alongside with more distant family. After comprehensive audit checks and photographs, settled on Mayura Valley View Inn, Madikeri, Coorg for 2 evenings from twelfth June 2015. I had a few elucidations cleared in a matter of moments by the superb staff there and in Bangalore.o Upon the arrival of landing, we were indicated into the rooms 311 and 318, both first floor and twofold exclusive. The perspective from 311 is stunning, two major windows one demonstrating the whole town of Madikeri and the other the valley. The set-up inside were great, however the covers could have been neater. The best part was that they had considered little subtle elements like giving a complete little toiletry unit which included toothbrushes, glue and shaving pack, mosquito repellent for the mosquitoes which were luckily lesser here and also a vendor, the windows had networks as well. One moment it was clear skies indicating you miles of immaculate characteristic magnificence and the following moment one is touched by the mists themselves, the experience is amazing. The main low point I could note here is the restaurant, its bar connected with a remarkable perspective beaten just by Rajas seat, very pricey and less alternatives. The complimentary breakfast is fit for the yoga access, so don't run with an excessive amount of desire on food. Obviously the individuals who like to drink liquor, also, binge spend you couldn't long for a superior area. The best veg eatery we had, close-by is Neel Sagar, in Kodava Samaj complex and flavours additionally can be purchased at less expensive rates at the Coorg store there (contrasted with ones in the middle of Kushalnagar and Madikeri course, try not to purchase there!!!! ). The Raintree eatery was proposed as the great non-veg option. An expression of counsel here, since Neel Sagar is acclaimed. Stopping of autos could be an issue additionally if you plan to eat by 9 pm. Do achieve there by 7:45 pm as you may need to sit tight for a long time. Be that as it may, the nourishment is great and mood none.
It was a wonderful get-away. The room was very neat, the view was wonderful and the place was the most calm place that i have ever been in sometime. In-fact the place was so calm that you could feel alone at times!!. Overall an amazing place to be at if you are looking for some peace in life. The check in and check out times are 12 pm. so its highly recommended to be in time to enjoy most of your time!!.
we went in the second week of may 2011, and since it was a weekend plus holiday season, we had to book two weeks in advance. the hotel is situated on the edge of a hill with the room windows opening to the valley. the hotel is within a 10 minute drive from the bus stand and madkeri town center, and a five minute walk from raja seat. we had booked a deluxe non-AC double room on the ground floor which actually is the best accommodation available in this hotel. the room is spacious, very clean and fresh, with freshly painted walls. the interiors are very well maintained with a large bed and colourfull bedspreads, a LCD tv, and of course a big wide window with a glass slider, which gives a cinemascopic view of the valley. there is no room service, but the restaurant with an attached bar, is just a few meters walk from the room. overall, a very good, quiet and calm stay amidst nature in this hotel, which you wont find in any other part of coorg.
To start with, Madikeri is highly over rated as a hill station especially compared to Nilgiris, Munnar or any plantation area in Kerala. Having said that, the Hotel Mayura Valley View at Raja Seat has the best location and view in Madikeri. Each room has a valley view as the hotel is on top and on the edge of the hillside. Rooms are reasonably priced, large, clean with included breakfast.
The trip from Bangalore to Madikeri takes about 6 hours by bus and a distance of 280 kms. We went in the month of February and it was quite hot. The nights did get cool though. Mayura Valley View is a definite value of money and also very close to the madikeri bus stand, it\'s about 2 km. A double deluxe room at 1500 rs per night was well worth it. The room was clean and very spacious best of all was the view from the room and also the bathroom, you can enjoy the view the valley as you take a shower, that was quite enjoyable for me. The restaurant is tiny and the kitchen very small but we found the food there quite good and definitely better than outside the hotel. They have only 28 rooms so advance booking would be advisable. You can rent bikes at the hotel and visit places nearby which i prefer to travelling by bus. Notable places nearby would be Raja\'s seat at 1 km, Abby falls at 9kms , Omkareshwara temple at 2 km, Talacauvery at 48kms, Golden temple at the tibetan settlement at 40kms, Dubare forest reserve at 20 kms, Nisargadhama at 22 kms. All in all I would say its a perfect weekend getaway.
