"Hotel at its best"

5.7/7
Posted 1 month ago

Didn't stay in the room for a long time. Nice location. Clean rooms. Good food offered by the in house canteen. Staff was very helpful but would not allow check-in before 12 PM. You can easily stay here and visit Chikmagalur nearby. Mode of travel was KTM 390.

"Pleasant stay & spacious rooms"

5.7/7
Posted 1 month ago

The stay was pleasant. Hotel was located near market. Only drawback was you can't get milk for kids and vegetarians have problem as they serve non-veg also. Rooms were spacious and clean. But they should provide with at least 2 soaps.

"Good stay for short period"

5.3/7
Posted 2 months ago

Been there for one night while coming back from Hornad. Reached pretty late ( 1 AM) in the night. Check in process hardly took a minute. Rooms are very clean and spacious. We booked 3 rooms for 6 Adults & 2 children. There are extra beds in the room, no additional charge was asked However, there is no drinking water provided in the rooms. The place....

"Happy stay "

6.7/7

I really liked the hotel a lot. First time seeing a Govt run hotel maintained better than private ones. I had booked a AC deluxe room under 1k and still it served the purpose. Me and my friend, we had a comfortable stay. Only thing was that the heater was not working, but we were too lazy to ask help for that, est everything was fine.

"Value for money place to stay in Belur"

5.4/7
Posted 3 months ago

It is located in Belur, which comes on the way to Chikamagalur for those travelling from Bangalore. Belur is really small and the two attractions we found were : Chennakesava temple which is at walkable distance from this, and Yagachi Dam which is 3-4 KMs. The hotel is Government made (Tourism Dept) which is evident in quite a few things. We liked....

"Can recommend"

5.4/7

The property is very well situated at a walking distance from the exquisite Belur temple, and it was the primary reason for booking the hotel. The staff was friendly, but services were pretty much basic. I stayed in an AC Double. Can recommend under same conditions.

"Clean rooms and good staff"

6.2/7
Posted 4 months ago

Had a very comfortable stay. Staff were very helpful and the hotel had very clean and spacious rooms and bathrooms. Nice ambience. Food was major issue. For vegetarians they has to be a separate kitchen. Idea of having common kitchen for both veg and non veg cooking not comfortable as the chances of serving utensils getting mixed up is very high. P....

They should work a little on cleanliness of toilets, bed spreads and mats. Otherwise this is best suited as stop over at Belur. Very close to the temple. We checked in late and hence didn't try food.

"Decent hotel"

Expectations were low since it was a government hotel but the infrastructure and staff attitude were too good. Food options were limited but whatever available was not bad. Keep up the standards and approach towards guest.

"Spacious rooms and good food "

5.6/7
Posted 9 months ago

Stayed with Family at Mayura Velapuri. Hotel is about 500 meters from Keshav Temple. We opted for room with 3 bed. Even after having 3 proper beds, the room was so huge that it could have accommodated 4-5 people more easily (of course hotel won't do that). The rooms were maintained properly and everything was clean. Only point that the management should make a note of is to maintain the condition of Bathroom. Fitting are too old, toilet seat was broken, in short bathroom was not as maintained as the room itself. Hotel has a restaurant, and you can expect good food in the restaurant. Remember no orders are accepted after 9:30 pm, so plan your travel accordingly.

"Best location and comfortable rooms"

5.4/7
Posted 1 year ago

We visited Belur to visit temples at Belur, Halebidu, Shravanbelagola to enjoy the architectural beauty of Hoysala dynasty. We didn't have even a single moment to regret about the choice of hotel for our 3 day stay. Excellent location with regard to temple and bus stand. Well-maintained sprawling campus with lot of parking space. We stayed in double deluxe A/C room. Beds were really comfortable. A big double bed and an extra cot with bed was provided. Furniture provided was more than sufficient. Table, chairs, sofa with teapoy, dressing table, cupboard and side tables. Television set is good and cable connection was also good. More channels can be provided. Ventilation was very good especially in room 106. Room is close to the road but not noisy. The corridor and reception counter all were fine. The staff were courteous. The manager himself takes care to lock campus gate to avoid unauthorised parkings. The attendants were helpful. The restaurant was good but may not be a good option for people who prefer exclusive vegetarian food. The families with kids may feel more comfortable if drinking is restricted to a separate area. There were a few budget vegetarian restaurants like Vishnu residency, Sankar comforts and annapoorni mess that provide exclusive vegetarian food at reasonable rates. Additional tour information and travel service to nearby places like Chickmagalur Halebidu can enhance the tourist experience.

"Nice experience"

5.1/7

The KSTDC hotel, called Mayura Velapuri or Karnataka Hotels Belur, is located a few meters before the famous Chanakesava Temple at Belur. Newly renovated and built on a spacious campus, it is equidistant to Halebidu temples, Chikamagalur, Yagachi dam, or Hassan. Lacks the frills of a homestay or resort in picturesque Chikamagalur, but for just Rs.1200 a night you get a gigantic room with AC and Sony Bravia LCD TVs, clean and big bath with hot water, power backup, extra mattress, and space for children to play safely. The service is typical government style, so expect less and you will be happy. The food is just OK. We had yummy masala vada, masala dosa, and coffee at hotel Vishnu, a small cafe opposite the temple entrance. You can book online.

"Excellent option which would suit one's budget"

5.7/7
Posted 7 months ago

The place was very calm, quite and the rooms were spread across the plot with an awesome ambiance. Misty mornings were too good and refreshing and a walk with a cup of coffee would was heavenly. Only scope of improvement I saw was the food. Quality of the food isn't what I am concerned here. Food wasn't tasty enough to get the customers return.
