About Montfort School

Montfort School, established in 1917 by Brother Denis, is one of the well established residential boy’s schools located within the destination. There is a beautiful chapel located within the school, which has been constructed using stones, featuring one of the best examples of Franco-Indian architecture.

In addition, there are three symmetrical grey walls standing erect at the entrance of the school, which represents three stalwarts who laid the foundation of this school. The school also has beautiful architectural buildings, gardens and playground along with swimming pool. The school also has a zoo, which is open for visitors only on Sundays.

"Not allowed inside the school"

  • 5.00/7
  • Posted Dec 23, 2014
The Montfort school was established in 1917 by the effort of Bro.Montford after whom the school is named. Since we were not allowed inside the school we took some photographs from the gate and left the place. This place should be removed from places to see in Yercaud since you cannot enter the school.

"Nice experience of visiting a convent school"

  • 6.00/7

Visit to the school reminded me of my school days. We could see the children playing. Children will surely enjoy a visit to the school. There is a small animal area (zoo) inside the school premises which makes it all the more interesting.

Montfort school is a good place to visit. It's good just to see the amenities. Also, the 'mini zoo' with birds and animals inside the campus is very good.

"School that has created stars!"

  • 7.00/7

The school building looked enigmatic and with lots of space for students to play, and classrooms were airy and comfortable. So many people who have reached great heights were students of this school. The Tamil superstar Vikram was a student of this school and visits school every year during sports day.
