We desperately wanted a holiday with our daughter whose school was to start in the next one week. We decided to take off to Ooty. It was by sheer chance that we stumbled upon this resort. One which will not be normally listed in any of the holiday or hotel booking websites. We did get to read some of the reviews by the earlier visitors and since it was not within city limits, we decided to take our chance, especially because we decided not to go by car. We reached Ooty main bus station and surely and truly, the complimentary pick-up car was there and met us within few minutes The front office was a simple one. But then the rooms were quite neat and clean, with no smelly wardrobes or linens. The facilities offered were quite basic and met our expectations. The important addition was the free WiFi. The most important aspect about the resort was about the most exhilarating view - looking out on the mountains, with the closest possible cabbage and carrot fields. There is a public transport bus that stops in front of the resort once an hour and takes you to Ooty town in about 20 minutes. Of course you can summon taxis at any point of the day and that you can safely leave it to the front office manager who will organize The resort is located on the Ooty-Mysore road - about 10 minutes drive from Ooty town. The food is good and has quite a variety. The service provided by the staff was quite courteous and they took care of all our requests. The price was another surprise - for 3 full days (2 nights) - including food for 3 of us, the bill came to about Rs. 10, 000 - full paisa vasool. I will have no hesitation to recommend this resort - especially for honey-moaners and those who visit as a big family - where they can set up a nice camp fire in the night. The next time I were to visit Ooty and Mount and Mist, I will drive down in my car.
I traveled to Ooty in the month of March 2017 on a family holiday trip. I booked a room at this hotel through online. The hotel location was interior from the main road. The roads were not well maintained by the respective authority. It was a small way cars cannot come through that roads. The appearance was good with the attractive looks of the hotel. There was a small park for the kids to play. The front desk was excellent in rendering the services. They were cooperative and very responding to us. They completed the booking formalities on time. They were providing some cabs for pick and drop facility. Rooms were good with the ambience. There was a small balcony in that room. We took non-AC rooms. It was well maintained with the cleanliness. The bathroom was neat and dry. The room service was good and they were polite in nature. Foods were delicious. It had the best taste and the food quality was hygienic. There were few fun activities in that hotel. The campfire was allowed but the cost was very high they provided bikes for mountaineering which cost Rs. 800/- per day. It was costly. Musical chair was there. WiFi facility was there but there was no constant network connectivity. It was not available in the rooms but it was connected only outside the room. The overall service was good and satisfactory. I suggest the hotel management to arrange more fun activities at the night times to improve WiFi strength arrange some transport for the sightseeing.
The hotel and rooms are good. The doors of the room open to a beautiful view of the small mountains the hotel garden. The garden is full of beautiful flowers. We were here with family in the month of April by car from Bangalore The room that we got was just checked out by another customer after we reached the hotel. The bed spreads and towels were changed. The bathrooms were cleaned. However the carpet in the hall was not cleaned unless we asked them to do so. Not sure if the Romans were moped or not. People visiting with infants might want to check on that before they check in. The staff was courteous. All the rooms have a common balcony. People looking for privacy in balcony might want to look for another hotel The food was not great. The are not good at non veg items. They are good at simple dishes like lemon rice, jeera rice, Dale fry, mixed vegetable curries. The phulkas and kulchas are good. The dry items were good as we well. You order anything else they are not good at that. People who are looking for non veg, better to not to eat in the hotel. In the worst case if you order chicken do mention boneless if you don't like bones. The fish curries are pathetic. It's overlooked. Only a person who is very fond of non veg can eat rest might want to avoid it Coming to Bourne fire and barbeque, it was a flop show. It was a smoky and burning eyes and wet barbeque dishes instead of dry and crispy. We ordered for barbeque. Gobi, potato and paneer were all wet. They tasted as they were severed directly from the marinated bowl. They were suppose to be dry. When we asked the cook why are they leek this he said the grilling machine is not working. We should been informed earlier about it by the concerned dept when we ordered for one. We wouldn't have wasted 7000 for this. This was the worst barbeque and Bourne fire I ever seen. The wood set for fire in standing position to form a pyramid fell off there place after few minutes. The staff was not able to do it right. They used kerosene oil to set fire for Bourne fire that made the whole atmosphere smoky and burning eyes. People who are planning for Bourne fire and barbeque in this hotel, I personally suggest not to opt for this hotel. The owners son came to check the barbeque and Bourne fire during that time. We gave them our feedback on Bourne fire, the food was not served yet to give him the feedback right away. Even after the negative feedback he charged us 7000 which was disgusting. Overall I would rate it average. All the sight seeing places are far from this hotel.
It's a nice place to stay with family. Mountains and excellent view from the hotel. The hotel is excellent with good facilities. The room was spacious with all amenities. There was one double bed and extra bed facility as well. The food was tasty. There is no WiFi facility but the place has good network coverage The excellent point about this hotel is it is pet friendly hotel. Hotel people organize bonfire in the evening If you are going second time, the hotelier will give 15-20% discount. SO a very good point for second time visitors The location is very good and easily accessible. Very close to many visiting points like Pine Forest, Botanical Gardens, etc. Just 15 minutes travel from the hotel.
