We visited Mukteshwar in March 2015 and stayed in Mountain Trail resort. The resort has a beautiful view of the mountains. The property has a lovely fruit orchard and the rooms are extremely spacious and clean. The hospitality and food were excellent. The staff was very courteous and assisted us with any guidance requested. We loved this place so much that we visited again in October and found the place to be better! This is the perfect place if you want to step away from the crowded hill stations like Nainital/ Almora and spend quality time with your loved ones or even read a book in amazing weather! PS: There is a chocolate shop within the property selling the most sinful dark/coffee chocolates among other variants.
I had been to Nainital and stayed in this hotel. It was convenient to locate the hotel and the surrounding was good. The interior and exterior of the hotel was good. The behaviour of the staff in the hotel was excellent and they were helpful, and there was no delay in check-in and check-out. The food served in the hotel was very good in quality and in taste, and the price was reasonable. The room allotted to me was good and it was well-maintained with all basic amenities in working condition, and there was a sun rise view from the hotel room. There was some games and garden in the hotel. Overall, the destination and the stay at the hotel were good, it surely is worth the pay and I will recommend this hotel to other travellers.
We were on our road trip from Mumbai to Nainital when we heard about Mukteshwar and thought of taking a detour via Mukteshwar to Ranikhet. The hotel is very neat and clean and the staff is very polite and helping. The views offered from the hotel are very beautiful and scenic. There is no television in the rooms hence you feel totally disconnected from the hectic lifestyle and can enjoy a peaceful stay. This is the best hotel in Mukteshwar.
It is the best hotel in Mukteshwar, Sargakhet. This hotel is situated at very beautiful location. From this hotel we can see Himalayas. The view is really very awesome. The service provided by this hotel is also very good. The rooms are very clean. This hotel is best for family, friends and large groups also.
The resort is awesome. The cottages as well as surroundings are very well-maintained. Spick and span rooms with clean linen greeted us on arrival and quick room service on a rainy day was very comforting. The lush green surroundings and sit outs all over the place in addition to a small enclosed sit out in front of the room was just too good. The apple, plum and apricot trees with beautiful flowers were very refreshing. The staff was very hospitable and quick to respond. At least one light to illuminate the room sufficiently is required.
A truly memorable experience. The stay at this hotel was very comfortable and the staff is sincere. The views from the hotel is just perfect. Loved the mesmerizing beauty around it. The hygiene levels of the hotels are also very decent and is carefully maintained. I particularly like the pizza that the Italian chef cooked up for us. Would definitely recommend.
Awesome, mesmerising view, cool and memorable stay. The food was very good, hygienic, good variety and tasty. The staff was always eager to help and child friendly. Excellent place for holidays with amazing weather. Kids enjoyed a lot in the open surroundings. The trees loaded with fruits were a beautiful sight. Looking forward to our next stay.
An eco-friendly resort, close to nature, with beautiful lush green environment with lots of trees and variety of flowers. Thoughtfully designed in order not to disturb the originality of the nature. We really enjoyed the awesome weather in peak summer time, accompanied by warm hospitality and nice homely food.
Really loved this hotel where we stayed for days during our trip to Uttarakhand. The lush green surroundings with amazing valley view from room windows and balconies will surely fill your heart with joy and enthusiasm. Rooms were spacious and nicely designed. Staff was also well-trained and well-behaved. They served a delicious food with nice desserts, and sweets.

Look out of the bay window right at the snow peaks, or walk around to the other side of the ridge to take in an awesome sunset? That\'s the difficult choice you love to make. Mountain Trail has a tremendous location. We loved the rooms, too, with their picturesque sit-out / bay windows. They are designed to feel more like independent cottages - good amount of privacy, and a lot of natural charm. I love the feel of the place - it let\'s you experience where you are, rather than be a perfectly manicured, pretty plastic 5-star. Feels great to open your window and have a cloud come swirling in!
Mountain Trail was wonderful in every way! Clean comfortable rooms, friendly, kind, helpful staff and incredible food! The staff did everything possible to make our stay a once in a lifetime experience. Even through the booking (with the complications of a large group) they were patient and extremely helpful, even helping us to book and organize other parts of our holiday in Delhi and Rishikesh as well as transport to and from the resort. It\'s hard to imagine better customer care.
Mountain Trail in Mukteshwar is a great place for vacationers that don\'t want to carry the urban burdens with them when they travel. It\'s quiet and secluded, there are no televisions in the rooms and the best entertainment it provides is watching the flowers bloom and apricots fall. The restless ones can make use of the Games Room/Club, where you can play Table-Tennis, Darts, Carrom and Chess. It?s attached to a common area where you can watch television, if the need arises. The rooms are built like cottages- two rooms per cottage with a private sitting area. Our rooms had a connecting door, one of the rooms had a private shaded verandah and the other one was larger, without the verandah, built to accommodate an extra bed. All cottages face the orchards, and beyond that the valley and the mountains. It?s built on terraced land, so you need to negotiate a few steps to get to the cottages built on higher ground. We went in June and the weather was a little hazy for Himalayan Ranges to be visible, we still managed to catch a glimpse of two peaks. The bathrooms are fairly clean, running water is shut from 1pm to 6pm but if required, the wonderful staff will attend to a request for extra water. The Houskeeping and the Restaurant staff is fantastic and will try to fulfill your every need. The Chef at the Resort makes sure people get what they want and will try to prepare meals exactly as you want them. Food, in general, is like home cooked food, light on the stomach. Attached to the Resort is a chocolate store that sells homemade chocolates and they are excellent- their brownies and fudge are quite exceptional too. It\'s difficult to not binge on them. The Manager Mr. Moses was most helpful and saw to it that we were all comfortable. He\'s also the best person for advice on walking/driving/hiking trails. As for things to do, there are plenty of beautiful walking trails close to the resort. A 6 km walk takes you to the Shiv temple at Mukteshwar and Chauli ki Jaali, which has the most stunning views in that neighbourhood. Apart from that, a walk in any direction will take you to great views. Even if you don\'t get out of the resort for the entire duration of your vacation, you would still leave a relaxed person. It\'s like owning a home in the hills. Although it is a little expensive than what you would expect a hotel in the hills to charge, but for the experience, it\'s worth the money.
You drive like a joker till Mukteshwar and the realise that this is the wisest and greatest thing you could have done! Here, you are virtually at the top of the world, and just have to look down, never up. All the hills and mountains are below you, and the views are simply breathtaking. Nainital and all other taals simply pale away in comparison. Mountain Trail is a nice place to stay, and has the aura of a friendly holiday home. The individual cottages have a private verandah which is great to sit in and enjoy in the evenings, while you watch twinkling lights in the distant hills. The resort has several apple and Khubani trees, and the real joy is plucking them straight off the branches - ripe and juicy, unlike anything you get to eat in Delhi or elsewhere. The small garden with the cane chairs and table is a cool place to spend the day in the sun, reading a nice novel. The resort charged me peak rates of approx Rs 455 per night, but the rooms just do not deserve anything even close to that. The toilets are lousy and pathetic. Dated vinyl flooring can still be seen in some rooms, and to make it worse, it was peeled off at several places. The resort needs to do a lot to be up to mark. The people here, including the owner, his son and the manager are very nice to talk to - this makes the stay nice too. But do look at other, more value-for-money places to stay before you settle down. The real joy in Mukteshwar is moving around. Go down 1.5 kms to hit a small settlement for minor shopping, chemist and teas. Go up to visit the temple, and enjoy awesome tea in a romantic dhaba. Hanging right at the edge of a valley, this dhaba has it sowner's room right behind and serves fresh pakoras as well. All in all, simply go to this place. You are not gonna regret it. No matter what - the lousy rooms of Mountain trail notwithstanding.
Hi.We went to Mukteshwar in April 2011.Small place. Not much to do therefore good for small holidays.Just relax & enjoy the beauty of the place with a cup of tea.We stayed at Mountain Trail Hotel.Nice hotel, staff is good & the food is also good.On the last day ,the cook made Kumaoni Cuisine. The hotel has its own chocolate shop. The place has few places to visit, but if you have come to relax then its good.If anybody wants to go there then the best time would be may/june so that they can enjoy the fresh fruits.
