Mudumalai food, sight-seeing and shopping options
The tours offered by the forest department in small mini buses are quite recommended. We got to see tuskers, chital, mongoose, peafowls. The crowds in the bus tend to get noisy and forget that one will get to see the animals only if there is complete silence.

Hotel Review of Wild Canopy Reserve
Comments: We were looking for an exclusive place for a quiet weekend. We found this beautiful place in the middle of private forests which was like a paradise on earth. It is amazing place at the foothills of the Nilgiris. The family who run the place have worked hard to keep the place natural. The wild life is fantastic. We saw a family of Bison and alone tusker even as we entered the place. The whole feel of actually sleeping in the middle of the forest on top of the tree was mind blowing. It was a great experience and wish we could afford to do it more often. The overall experience was worth every penny.
Best Experience: The feel as we entered this great big space with mountians on one side and the family of six bison peacefully grazing on the grass the is unexplainable. So our driver took us on another road and there was this huge tusker just standing there drinking from this mud waterhole it was just fantastic. And even as we watched a couple of wild dogs(Dhole) ran in to drink water the racket created by the monkeys and deer has to be experienced to belive.
Worst Experience: It was a wonderful experience on the whole. On the second night as we were having dinner under the stars we heard this great big roar which had us freaking out, but our hosts assured us that iit was only a TIGER keeping the wild dogs away from its kill. It was scary. Since the resort was full we had to stick to our treehouse and the growls of the tiger kept us awake for quite a while

Hotel Review of Wild Canopy Reserve
Wild Canopy reserve is located in the foot hills of Nilgris, with a generous area 320 acres. So close to the wild and to nature. The service was one of the many things that were very impressive. . It’s clean and well kept with a great variety of food. Very good environment and a feeling that you are safe and run by a family who make you feel their own, be it on a trek or a safari. They...

Hotel Review of Wild Canopy Reserve
Mudumalai is magical for us- we keep going back. Wild Canopy is a place we stumbled upon by accident since they dont advertise too much. At simply the thought of living atop a tree, we decided this was IT! And we were not disappointed. From having stayed in the various accomodations Wild Canopy provides, including tree houses, cottages and the tents at their camping site, the faultless service by their cheerful and sporting staff, the wonderful food that their inhouse...

Hotel Review of Wild Canopy Reserve
we stayed in the tree house, a novel experience in itself. the house would sway gently in the breeze with the tree. we had a fantastic view of the hills and the forest beneath. though there was no electricity, there was no need for it. the place is very eco-friendly for a quiet getaway. our holiday was peppered with coffee plantation visits and jungle safaris. the staff is very courteous and we made some friends there. we would wake up...

Hotel Review of Wild Canopy Reserve
Went with great expectations to see wildlife. The trip was disappointing as far as wildlife sightings were concerned. But the place is very beautiful. The place is in the middle of the jungle and one could see traces of the nocturnal perambulations of wild animals - bear droppings, tiger and leapord pugmarks all around the place, and there is the spectacular backdrop of the Gauri Vara mountain range that is very beautiful. Staying at their tree house one wakes up...
