"Mullayangiri Hills;Wonderfull ride"

  • 6.50/7
  • Posted 1 week ago
It's the first time for me riding on a hill. Ride was good as there was no traffic. But you have to be very slow as the road was covered a lot with mist. Be careful when your reaching the top as only one vehicle can cross at a particular point.

"Natural mountains;nice breeze"

Good place with natural mountains with a nice breeze. The roads are dangerously adventurous with hair pin curves. There is a beautiful temple at the top.

The place is very scenic. Approach road is not very good. You need to be careful while driving to this place.
If you are not very comfortable to drive on hills, please hire a driver.

"Visit to Mullayangiri"

  • 6.00/7
  • Posted 2 months ago
It was a fantastic experience visiting Mullayangiri and watching sunrise from the highest peak. Though we were told only 300 stairs to reach the peak but it turned out to be approx 470 stairs but it was worth it. My father, who has difficulty in walking due to an old leg fracture, also managed to climb it and he was the happiest person after reaching the top as view was worth the effort.

"Good peak to visit with a temple"

  • 4.50/7
  • Posted 2 months ago
Nice view of the surroundings hills. It was worth to go and climb the hills. Every thing was an adventure in itself, starting from driving to climbing. This is Highest peak in south India. There is a temple on the top of hill. No adventure sports is there, but we can do adventure on our own. Remember to carry water, refreshment with you, as there are not many options available near the hill.

Advice: People must be careful while climbing, some stairs made out of stones are bit risky. Cameras are not allowed inside the temple. And, if you love nature, the place is perfect spot for you, but if you are looking for some sports or picnic, this may not be the right choice.

Excellent hill station, and adventurous too. The sight of the surrounding is very nice and refreshing; the cool breeze is enchanting. The greenery and the horizon is just enjoyable. The ride to Mulligatawny is a breathtaking experience. There is also a nice stream.

"Way to heaven!!"

Been to Chikmagalur but not visited Mullayanagiri? Then you have missed a lot. The peak is on its highest of western ghats. You get to see everything from the top in summer, and nothing but chilly mist (fog) in winter. Do not miss the temple situated on the hilltop. It may seems like a long way in winter but, takes hardly 10 minutes to reach by walk (steps). Carry warm clothes if traveling in winter. Please do not litter the area as it looks beautiful without a plastic cover flying on the grassland.

"Highest peak in south India with breathtaking view"

  • 7.00/7
  • Posted Jan 18, 2014
Drive to the Mullayangiri peak was the most exciting thing. Caution to all the travellers there is U turn 8 km before the Mullayangiri peak. The directions are not clear. If you miss that U- turn, you would end in Baba Buddan Giri, which is the next peak. Its the highest peak in south India and view is breath taking.
