Hotel Review of ITC Hotel Grand Maratha Sheraton & Towers
Comments: It was the third time in 10 minutes and we already had a third room service attendant gaping at us. 'Please replenish the tea tray with the tea bags at once. Please add green tea bags to the tray.' I had got it by heart as I was saying it for the fifth time. He still could not get it. Room service in this hotel feels like the staff is ad hoc and room service is not really their real job. My wife had to finally intervene and she picked up the empty wooden tea tray with empty sachets in it. 'Here,' she said, 'fill this up.' He finally got it but did not either smile or apologize. 'Yeah, yeah,' he responded with his head bowed and did a fast about turn and ran out of the door. Then he came back with a fully loaded tea bag tray without any green tea. 'What about the green tea, my good man?' I asked him. 'What, sir?' Again that confused and helpless look, which somehow was supposed to make me feel that I was a troublemaker. 'Never mind,' I said. In the evening we walked out and took a cab to the Taj President and had our green tea there. While checking out, a sardarji across the counter, leered and asked, 'if your company is paying for this, Sir, I would like to add a full day's charge because you overstayed for three hours.' I protested. 'But you assured me on the phone that it would be all right.' 'Yes,' he replied, 'but I checked and saw that your booking is bill to company. Somehow, all this does not add up to a five star experience. The morning breakfast buffet was good but not excellent. Every dish was meeting standards. But you don't go to a luxury hotel to meet basic standards. I would like to be surprized if I stay at a luxury hotel. Does not meet expectations.
Best Experience: The business centre lady was excellent and could foresee my needs before I could voice them. Brilliant and very well maintained business centre. Very courteous staff too. This hotel should train its people to smile more often and not look tired. That was the case everywhere except the business centre.
Worst Experience: The smoked salmon is a sensitive dish. It has to have the best salmon and the best of other ingredients. The dish was dry and the salmon was wanting on the palate. It looked as if a chef specialising in North Indian food had cooked the smoked salmon.

Hotel Review of ITC Hotel Grand Maratha Sheraton & Towers
While it was a two-night stay earlier this week, the warmth of the room coupled with the facilities provided, I wished I had more time to enjoy them !! Dinners at Pan Asian and Dakshin were good experiences - one was tempted to experiment with different cuisines....
