Hotel Review of Forest Haven Resorts
Comments: I was planning for a honey moon location, so my friends suggested me Munnar was the place to go in the month of Jan-Feb, after lot of searching on the web came aross some resorts which were matching to my taste( Truly I wanted to make the stay ever remembered for my wife and me) Initially I had selected Strling Resorts in Munnar (which is 21 kms from Munnar City) but I couldnt get a Suit booked since it was season that thime. I wanted a resort which was away from city but still near (convienient to go to city) So I selected The Forest Heaven Resort.
After lot of information gathering about Forest Heaven which is situated in kallar (about 12 kms from Munnar). I found the rents affordable and above all the resort is surrounded by cardomom plantations, a river flowing next to the resort, a natural Swiming pool.
I booked the resort for 4 days and 5 nights for a couple after lot of phone calls and e mails. When We reached their the Manager was kind enough to allocate us the best room available with three gallaries to view the forest from 3 sides (I had requested him to make the stay memorable).
The food was great ( on the first day they prepared the food with coconut oil which we didnt like) but after that the food was 100% according to our preference (food was totally customized dont know if they do it for every one)
On the third day the manager arraiged for a safari, the travel was great but we could not see any animals, but my wife really enjoyed the trip since she is very fond of different kinds of herbs and plants which she was asking the guide cum driver.
On the forth day he arrainged a trip around munnar and tourist points this time he had arrainged for a maruti 800 but on incistance to get a indica he oblidged ( I assumed the roads to be rough in the mountain terrain). The guide cum driver was again informative we came back late night had a good food and relaxed.
Next day we left for Cochin from their to Bangalore
Best Experience: I didnt expect the owner of the resort to welcome me, it was a very good gesture from his side. He maid sure I got the best room available.
Language was a barrier but it was not a problem at all for my full stay.
The cook was very co-operative when asked not to cook in coconut oil he willingly oblidged. He was so keen in giving the best service that he would make a point to ask an hour before the lunch time what we would like to have na dprepare a fresh. He would even ask us the feedback on the food and corect his mistakes (like amount of spice / oil etc.)
Worst Experience: When coming back to cochin on the last day unfortunately the manager could not find/ arrainge a taxi who was willing to come upto cochin. we had to make some part of the trip in local bus and auto.
