Hotel Review of Hill View, Hotel
Comments: Please be precautious to speak to one of the most indecent people right as you enter. I did not initially want to write a review, but I am forced to do so because of the totally unacceptable behaviour of the front office executive / reservation manager. He shouted and used unacceptable language against me and my family.

Infact, we went with a top reference from a senior person in TCS (a TATA enterprise) while making our bookings.

Next issue regarding the pathetic service:

The same day when we checked in to the hotel, i had severe pain around my chest and seeked the hotel people for help in the late evening around 11+PM. The first time my wife called up, the attitude was very negative and simply the person in the front desk had disconnected the call. The next time, he gave us a misleading and wrong information that there are no doctors available, and there are no hospitals that work round the clock.

We were new to Munnar, and not aware of the hospitals / doctors. This awareness is a basic expectation from hotels (if they are meant to provide service).

Finally around 5 AM, the pain was unbearable, and my family helped me out of the hotel, and we drove back to the bus station, to find to our surprise that TATA GENERAL HOSPITAL works 24 hours, and doctors were indeed available. My condition was bad, and i was admitted immediately in the emergency, and hospitalized for more than a day.

When we came back to Hotel Hillview, to my unpleasant surprise, i found the Reservation Manager, wanting us to checkout immediately, when we had not seen Munnar at all. He initially admitted the fact that they provided wrong and misleading information and risking the guest's life there by. However, later when we requested that we wanted a day's stay more to look around Munnar, the behavior of the reservation manager turned unbearable.

They charged us even though we didnot stay at the hotel, and the reservation manager went to the extent of threatening us if we had to raise a complaint against the hotel.

Please, for all good sake, never try booking / reserving with the Hotel Hillview. You put yourself in the hands of indecent people coupled with pathetic service. If you require more details, please do not hesitate to contact me over mail. When time permits, I would take this matter up legally.
Best Experience: None at all
Worst Experience: Indecent staff and pathetic service as stated above

Hotel Review of Hill View, Hotel
I went to this hotel in August, 2007. I paid in advance for two nights. As one of the reviewer said, it looked impressive from outside. However, it was disappointing inside. First of all, the floors are all wooden which keep you away from any peace. We went to our rooms and the rooms were pretty disappointing as well. I paid almost 4500 for two nights and this is what I found inside: 1) Room was extremely cold as outside temperature was about 10 degrees...

Hotel Review of Hill View, Hotel
The hotel has a great ambience - wood floors, wood panelling and all. You cannot call it a resort though, in the strict sense of the word. My definition of a resort being a place where there is a lot more to do than just sleep in the rooms. Talking of the rooms - the one I stayed in was spartan, with old mattresses and a generally a little musty. The food is good - try their fish steak, which...

Overall experience was good. But I got a room that was just too small. Probably 8 ft X 8 ft. The bed barely accommodated my wife and two year old daughter. The way to bathroom was also narrow with a cupboard in place. Rs. 1,000 for this room was not value for money. Staff were good. Food was very good....
