Mysore food, sight-seeing and shopping options
The Mysore Zoo is a must visit and one of the best Zoo in India, having Giraffe's, Zebra's, Gorilla and many more such exotic creatures from around the world. Mysore Palace is magnificent with amazing carvings and good architecture. Photography is prohibited from inside however pictures of the outside palace view can be taken. One cannot miss out the Brindavan Gardens and the musical fountain. The light and music show begins at 7 p.m. Mysore is famous for its Sandalwood items and silk sarees. The New Karnataka Cottage Emporium ( at Mysore Hotel Complex) has a lot of variety and has fixed prices and good offers. Veg Kourt on Shri Harsha road offers good Punjabi Food (Jain preparations were also available). Hotel Mysore Dasaprakash at Gandhi Square serves authentic South Indian Food.

Hotel Review of Wind Flower, The
Comments: We had the worst kind of experience ever. We have travelled all over but never ever experienced having to wait One Hour to check in and for the allotment of our rooms. Inspite of prior confirmed booking at the Resort we had to experience this. To top this the Chair in front of the Check-in Desk at the front office broke into three pieces when my wife was asked to sit down to fill up the Registration Form.
Worst Experience: The four Poster Queen bed had a kind of wooden protrusions with sharp edges all-around the three sides. It was a hindrance to get on to the bed or get off it. It was made as if for little childrens. I wish I had taken some photographs and submitted it to other members so they could have an idea. Elderly people could easily have a slip on the polished wooden flooring while getting off the bed and hurt themselves badly.

Hotel Review of Wind Flower, The
It was after a rather tiring journey from Wayanad through Nagarhole that we reached this refreshing resort, tucked in a cosy and silent corner of Mysore, overlooking the Chamundi Hills. The reception gave us a warm welcome, and as we proceeded to our rooms, we were quite impressed with the elegant appearance and the design of the layout. The room was pleasing and comfortable. The room had, apart from the refrigerator and electric kettle, an easy-to-use locker. Breakfast is served...

Hotel Review of Wind Flower, The
We went to Mysore during Dusshera Festival and WindFlower was new at that time. We were lucky enough to find two rooms for ourselves. And they were happy to offer us a good discount also in the on-season. This is a resort a bit far from the city but at the foothills of Chamundi Hill, it offers a calm and serene holiday for the relaxing ones. It has a wonderful spa with worldclass facilities. The rooms are tastefully made with wooden...

Hotel Review of Wind Flower, The
Very chic and contemporary decor and landscaping in an inspiring backdrop, good place to relax and read a book or watch some classics . However there are no hang out areas or relaxation spots , which is essential in every resort. The rooms and bathrooms are amazing in style and well appointed with good toileteries, the garden open air shower is great in the delux rooms. The towels could be a bit fresher.. smells vaguely of some spa treatments....

Hotel Review of Wind Flower, The
The highlight of this place, which is situated on the outskits of Mysore, is the outstanding architectural design. The rooms are superb and match any world class resort and the mirror pool complements the overall mood. However, for a casual vacationer, there are hardly any lesiure activities on offer, except the pool. The spa however, is decent. The food is also good and there is an opportunity to indulge in a hearty breakfast which is included in the tariff. The...

Hotel Review of Wind Flower, The
Nestled in the shadows of Chamundi Hills, away from the hustle and bustle of Mysore city and the footfalls of numerous tourists, there is an oasis of calm....welcome to the windflower spa and resort. This resort is still under construction...though there is afully functional resort, spa and swimming pool. If one takes into account the grandeur of the facilities currently in place, the future looks very very promising for this resort. Very spacious and comfortable rooms. Excellent spa facilities. Very...
