This park is spread in an area of around 644 sq. km and is a natural habitat of sloth bear, crocodile, tiger, snakes, four-horned antelope and several species of lizards. There are around 250 species of birds including the Malabar trogan, Indian pitta, green imperial pigeon and the great black-woodpecker in the park.
This place derives its name from two words ‘nagar’ and 'hole', which in local language means snake and streams respectively. The best time to visit this park is between the months of September and May.
