Hotel Review of Jilling Estate
Comments: A great place to escape to, where you really are away from the madness of city life. No phones or television or room service, but thats definately a positive. The surrounding woods are great to walk around, the weather great and the views - incredible. The walk up to the estate is a bit steep, but well worth the effort once you`re there. The food - not the room service option, but its good wholesome tasty stuff, cooked by the cottage caretakers.
Best Experience: great walks, especially the one up to the ridge- and some great views up there.
Worst Experience: you could catch some leeches while walking around during the monsoons... but thats part of the outdoor experience and not much to worry about

Hotel Review of Jilling Estate
Very convenient location with a 1.5 hr drive from Kathgodam after an overnight train ride. The resort is not touristy and is a great relief to reach after an hours worth of steep climb from the motorable road. Service is good and so is the food. The high point is the owners Steve Lall and Parvati who treat guests more like guests at their own home....

very relaxing weekend getaway. the best part is that only true nature-enthusiasts come here as the trek from the car-park to the resort is almost an hour. chill in the cottage soaking in the beautiful view!...
