Nathmalji-ki-Haveli

The Nathmal Ji ki haveli was originally commissioned as the residence of Diwan Mohta Nathmal who was the Prime Minister of Jaisalmer. This haveli was built on the orders of Maharawal Beri Sal by a pair of two Muslim architect brothers namely; Hathi and Lulu. It is said that, during its period of construction, the two brothers started building its different facets, but due to improper architectural instruments, the final result came out as an irregular structure. However, today, this haveli is considered as the best one in terms of grandeur. The main attractions at the place include Elephants made out of yellow stone along with life-size replicas present on its main doors. It also has several ancient pictures engraved on its walls and pillars of Islamic style.
