Activities at the planetarium mainly include science quiz contests, astro poetry, astro painting competitions, astro quiz competitions and others aimed at inspiring students.

From the planetarium, people can watch the Lunar and Solar eclipses through telescopes installed outside the building. A number of shows run inside the planetarium on a regular basis, tickets for which are available at the site itself. There are a total of 14 galleries inside the centre, each of which has its own significance.

Nehru Planetarium can be reached by BEST buses numbered A1, A2 andA4, 28, 33, 37, 39, 57, 80, 81 and 83. A must Place if you have kids of age 5- 15 Years.

Lot of Science concepts can be easily understood if you visit this place.

A Must place for family having children.

Movie is waste of money as you may find better documentary on science at National Geographic or Discovery Channel.

Conveniently located from Western Line of Mumbai Local.

Taxi is also a cheap option.

"Very old planetarium"

  • 5.0/7
  • Posted Mar 31, 2016
I was very disappointed with the seating and movement of seats in the Planetarium hall. I visited this place in the month of February with my brother -in-law to show him the earth origin in scientific sense. The entry pass is about 100/- but it is not worth the place visit. The up screening is old one and the background voice is also like Doordarshan editor's one and very low too that it can't be heard clearly and it is not understandable. The movement is not well though the picture presentment is good so I suggest everyone to visit this place without higher expectations and it should be remodeled with new technology to compete with others. The good planetarium I visited is in Hyderabad it is well maintained with up to date technology.

Brilliant Nehru!!!

I and my wife along with my 2 children went to this wonderful Nehru Center and enjoyed a lot. The exhibits were exemplary, took some lovely photos to cherish for our entire lifetime.

Located in Worli and very easily accessible from all parts of Mumbai. Must visit for all age groups when in Mumbai.

"There is lot of scope for improvement"

There is lot of scope for improvement. It's very repetitive. They should include more shows on a daily basis to attract matured crowd as well. This will encourage youth of Mumbai to visit such places.
