Neora Valley Resort Reviews
The hotel is located in Rishyap hilltop. The road to Rishyap from Lava(9km ) is very bad. Rooms are okay but the geyser and the heater were not functioning because of power problem. Only positive side is that Kanchankanya could be viewed from the room provided the sky is clear. Food is good. In my view, visiting Rishyap is not suitable for all categories of visitors. It may be alright for young adventurous people, but not for elderly person requiring moderate comfort.
Nice resort having cottage type rooms. They have cottages with basic amenities. Western type bathroom plus toilet with 24x7 hot and cold water is available. They have their own kitchen and room service, but food options are very limited. However, we enjoyed our stay very much. Perfect for the couples looking for serenity in the lap of mother nature.
It was holiday tour with friends. The hotel was good. But not all room was view room as they say. The staff were good and friendly. The hotel had good scenic view. The appearance was good and very good budget hotel. The room heater was not working apart from that room was good and all amenities were functioning. The food was good in quality and they had arranged for barbeque which was nice. There was no delay in check-in and check-out. There were no activities. We had managed our own sightseeing. It was a good budget hotel. I would like to recommend this hotel to other travellers.
The location of the hotel was convenient. The appearance from inside and outside was very nice. The staff were excellent and they gave quick services. The room had all the facilities like AC and TV. There was a sun rise view from the room given to me. The food was good with many dishes. There was a cab facility for sightseeing. There were no activities in the hotel. There was no delay in check-in and check-out.
Rishyap is one of the lesser known hill resort spot in West Bengal. Situated in a valley surrounded by towering hills, makes for a great sunrise and you never knew the snow covered Kanchendzonga changes so many hues during sunrise. Our cottage was on a hill top too. Surrounded by sparse forest and no boundaries to the resort we explored and trekked. The tall cottage (one and a half storey) has a single room but the real surprise is the wooden ladder leading up to a wide bunk, housing a mattress for two. My son went mad with joy. The nights need room heaters and bonfire while the days are not too warm if you have clouds swirling past your window. At 7 in the morning you still get to see the ground and all plant & trees covered in an ice layer or frozen dew and of course the tap freezes and you are on napkins till the sun's up properly.
The resort is nice and the room is comfortable. Appropriate room service is not available. Guests have to go to the dining hall in the cold chilly rainy night for dinner. Rest the view was pretty good from the resort.
I had been there with my family in the month of December. The location and ambiance was very nice although it was very cold at that time. We have enjoyed a lot. 360 degree view we have experienced there. Their food was also very delicious. They have well behaved staff and well managed hotel.
Resort was very nice. Location was awesome. Resort was located just at the beach. Kanchenjunga view was available from the room. Rooms were neat and clean and spacious. TV, geyser and other basic amenities were available in the room but fridge was not there. Services were fast and on time. Food was fabulous. Both varieties were available in veg and non-veg. Inner and outer look of the hotel was fantastic. Reception was cooperative and friendly. Garden was available in activities and it was well maintained. Rishyap place is excellent for visit. I traveled with my family in November month. I can recommend this hotel for others.
Atrocious road conditions with bad communication means will make your hips rattle till you reach the spot. On reaching we found the place is home to a pet cat who often visits the jungle and the kitchen too. To top it all the Manager claims this is very obvious as it is a pet and can visit the kitchen. So there is no guarantee that the same pet feeds on your food as well. Very nice scenic beauty but you will be bored to death if you are not a hiker. Very ill mannered staff and hygiene conditions make this place not a good spot for conscious beings. Stayed April 2014, travelled as a couple

I visited Rishyap, West Bengal during March and I was so happy to stay in Hotel Sonar Tori that I decided to let people know about this small but beautiful property in the lap of Himalayas. This hotel is actually an extension of Neora Valley Resort and is situated one case lower than the parent hotel offering 360 degree open view from all the 9 rooms it has. The upper floor rooms are costliest because it is at same level with the road and it offers more beautiful view of the valley. The room tariff is however very reasonable. Rooms were comfortable with clean bed linens and blankets and other amenities like LCD TV, geyser was also available. The hot water however was supplied for only two hours in morning. The hotel is having own generator and it is operational up to 10 pm. They don't allow candles in rooms, so it is advisable to carry a torch. However, power cut is not an issue in this part. The best part of the hotel is definitely the balcony and the places around the hotel which offered breathtaking views of the valley, blue mountains, mighty Kanchenjunga, trees with colorful leaves, chirping birds of himalayas and the colorful flowers. If you are a shutter bug, it's just a heaven for you. The hotel has got a restaurant which offers homemade bengali khana and I loved the food very much. It was cheap and stomach friendly. Only thing I did not like about this hotel is that a dog of this hotel was barking continuously in night and my parents could not sleep well. Other than these few hiccups, this is a good budget property and I will love to stay in this hotel in my next visit to Rishyap, the hidden queen of Himalayas.
The location of the resort is best in Rishyap. The resorts are spread in a small valley like place which is the property of owner of the resort. There are seven rooms and one dining cum kitchen where the owner family also stays at an adjacent room. The quality of room and cleanliness of both room and bathroom are excellent and comparable with wbfdc/wbtdc resorts.Satellite television and geezer are provided in every room.Though Rishyap is known for deficient on water supply we didn't face any dearth of water at any time of our stay. The quality of food was also good. The only deficiency there was availability of service. They provided telephone in rooms but that did not work always. The weather was very bad during our stay and we face difficulty to reach the kitchen resort every time to ask for something during rain. The main reason behind this I think the owner family's aloofness about the matter. Though they stay there they left every thing on their employees. One more area where the owner needs to take care is to clean the jungle from the adjacent area of the rooms to restrict insects entering the rooms. Overall, the resort is an exceptional place for stay.
Its a good hotel for adventure.Rooms are good and the service is also not bad.overall experience is good.
Neora Valley Resort was an expensive hotel, food served in the hotel was very costly and there weren't more options in food, service were not proper, the hotel was located in fine place and appearance of the hotel was very good, in reception, booking procedure were easy and staff was well mannered, rooms were neat and clean.
