About New Digha

57%
voted as clean

New Digha is an extension of the older part of Digha and has many hotels and other accommodation facilities that make it a hotspot among tourists. Apart from the beach, a very new addition to the list of attractions is the Science Centre that was founded by the National Council of Science Museums.

The science centre helps to enjoy as well as learn some science. The centre also has a park that represents the Jurassic Age. Besides, Digha also hosts one of the biggest Marine Aquariums in India, just opposite the Digha Hospital. A park with the Amravati Lake offers opportunities for boating. Deepak Mitra’s Snake Farm is located very near the lake.

"Pathetic experience" new review

A beach shared by men, women, dogs and horses alike. The beach was simply too dirty to be even rated as an experience - best avoided. Instead simply go 2 kms ahead to Udaipur beach.

It was a kind of holiday trip to Digha to enjoy my vacation. And I was really satisfied on reaching the beach. The sunset and sunrise at the beach was awesome. It was good trip. One can go with their family and friends as it is very cheap destination to travel.

Its good too but the beach is a little dirty, morning walk on the beach will give your mind a freshness. The tea from the beachside counters is not good.

It is obviously a paisa vasool location to see for. The people there are also too friendly to help. Food has its own charm, taking the camera would be the perfect thing to capture the memories.

"Morning Chai, Evening chaats, wonderful"

  • 6.50/7
  • Posted Dec 7, 2014
I love staying in New Digha more than Old Digha, love the hotels, the market, the beach and the best part is the morning Chai sitting on the rocks on the beach. In the evening I just love sitting on the benches beside the beach, gossip and have fun with my family and friends and have Jhal mury, Lebu chai and other innumerable delicious snacks.

"Its worth visiting"

  • 7.00/7
  • Posted Oct 26, 2014
It was my first visit to a sea and it was amazing feeling. It was awesome to look at the giant waves dancing with rejoice and the boats were scrolling over there. Standing alone facing the sea and reveal the holy air coming from the home of God. I enjoyed a lot by swimming, riding a Horse, collecting snail covers, running by the sea and lot more. Above all it was a paisa vasool trip. I suggest people not to throw anything made of plastic and polythene, let the nature be itself. And always remember to carry a high mega pixel camera to capture the nature at it best.
