About New Digha

voted as clean

New Digha is an extension of the older part of Digha and has many hotels and other accommodation facilities that make it a hotspot among tourists. Apart from the beach, a very new addition to the list of attractions is the Science Centre that was founded by the National Council of Science Museums.

The science centre helps to enjoy as well as learn some science. The centre also has a park that represents the Jurassic Age. Besides, Digha also hosts one of the biggest Marine Aquariums in India, just opposite the Digha Hospital. A park with the Amravati Lake offers opportunities for boating. Deepak Mitra’s Snake Farm is located very near the lake.

"Good Beach with lower average tourists"

  • 4.0/7
  • Posted 2 months ago
New Digha is having a very good Beach with lower average tourists and without boulders so you can swim and enjoy. People here are below average class and I found the crowd very cheap here.

Disadvantage are the hotels are not very close to the beach, you need to go few distance to the sea.

Good for family trips and recreational purpose. Must see the sunrise and sunset with the coconut water... :) "Gem of place in West Bengal". 2 days trip to Digha Beach was really awesome. Ok for a weekend gateway. You can find many budget hotels very near to beach.

"Better than Old Digha"

  • 5.5/7
  • Posted 2 months ago
The beach is better here compared to Old Digha. Market is also good around the beach. Government has taken new initiatives to improve this area. Besides for bathing in the sea it is more comfortable here as deposits of sand is less.

"A must visit place"

  • 5.5/7

The place is recent comparatively to Old Digha. But the beauty is also quite enjoyable. There are shops beside the beach where and various products are sold there. Fish fries are available also. For a walk in the evening the place is best suited.

"Beach should be clean and hygienic"

  • 4.0/7
  • Posted 3 months ago
Everything is good about the beach but only one problem is that with cleaning. The cleaning should be maintained so that the viewer feels very much comfortable there and can enjoy with their full heart. One more thing is a bit challenging, when you get off from the train, the vendor or rickshaw driver will feel you very creepy and their behaviour is also somewhat not bearable.

Very good sea site. We everyday used to visit this place at evening and there was a very big market also for shopping. And we used to sit at a place where the water don't reach.
