We had been to this Resort 3 years back and due to lack of time to plan for an alternative, I chose to go with this once again given the reasonable experience we had the last time around. But what a shocker of a stay it turned out to be at the New Sharada Resort this time around! With 3 more families accompanying me for a 2 night-3 days stay, we had booked 2 Cave Cottage and 2 independent Cottages : 1. Accommodation : (a) Bathroom: Water rushing out of the Bathroom and flooding the hall, the Commode was constantly leaking throughout the Night and hence leaving no Water to flush (b) Power : The Power was off for many hours on the second day throwing our day's plan completely off schedule (no hot water etc) 2. Hygiene: The Resort seemed to be the breeding ground for Mosquitoes and Manager's response was Mosquitoes are part of nature and we need to bear with it! 3. Indoor Games: Most of the games were dysfunctional. The pool table was not working and the Carrom had broken coins and when we asked for powder, they came back after an hour and provided us wiith Talcum powder! The Management's response : The Indoor Games had been damaged by other families like ours who had visited the facility and they cannot do much and we need to bear with this. 4. Swimming Pool : The outdoor pool was decent 5. Food : Was Ok. Nothing to write for or against it. 6. Service : Horrible! We were pretty much left to ourselves to ferry our luggage to the rooms, the left-overs of Food were just lying for one full day in front of the rooms in spite of reminding the staff multiple times. One of them even said that he was going in
The resort lies halfway between Srirangapatna & Brindavan Gardens on KRS Road (5 km from Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary). Ideal place for travelers from Bangalore who don't want to enter Mysore city and would also like to chill out in a quiet & restful place away from the hustle and bustle The place is decently maintained with spruced lawns, pool and fine landscaping. You have the option of staying in AC & non AC cottages, row houses or family suites. There are two large 'cave' suites for folks who want something out of the ordinary. They also have a quaint tree house above the bar with a sit-out facility. All the rooms are spacious and are finely furnished with vitrified flooring, balcony & clean toilets with quality fittings There is an 'Island' restaurant surrounded by water - like a moat. The water is channelized into the complex from a canal running adjacent to the road. Unfortunately for me, there was no water at the time I visited, since it was under renovation. I'm told they have boating facility in the tiny 'lake', but I'm not sure A well maintained pool surrounded by green lawns is situated in the middle of the resort with an attached kiddies pool This is an ideal place to unwind for folks who are budget conscious. A standard AC room for two is just Rs. 1200. The food is great and priced reasonably with a large menu of both Veg & non-veg items. The booze at the bar is ridiculously cheap - at least for Bangaloreans who are used to over priced bars Only disadvantage is that the parking area is slightly cramped and access to the resort is through a narrow, albeit, short path with a sharp bend that leads to the parking lot One bit of advise - don't book AC independent cottages that face the entrance. It's pretty noisy and taxi drivers hang around there. It's also slightly away from the pool and other facilities Overall a great place, and highly recommended for the budget conscious - especially for those who want to stay away from the city. Also ideal for folks who just want to visit the Gardens, since its about 5 km from the resort.
I had travelled to the place with friend and the location was fine. The staff members were very helpful and excellent in services. The appearance of the hotel from inside and outside was average. The room provided was spacious and well maintained with required amenities in good condition and also had a market view from it. The food quality at the hotel was good and was available in different varieties. The hotel did not conduct any activity. There was no delay while check-in or check-out. I would tell the hotel is good and I will recommend this hotel for other travellers like me.
Overall, my experience was good in this resort. I reached there by my own vehicle. It was located outside the city. I reached there comfortably. Location of the resort was good. Mysore as a destination is very good. Appearance wise, it was maintained. It was a nice place for children to play. Food was good. Ambience was good. Overall, it was good. It was booked through phone and was easy to book. No delay in check in and check out. Booking and front office people were good. Service was good. They were helpful and co-operative. Room was with AC, it was in a good condition. Whatever was required by us was available there. Room was not very spacious but it was okay. Interior of the resort was visible from the room. Complimentary breakfast was available there, it was reasonable, good and tasty. Swimming pool and area for children to play was there, indoor games, etc. Were there. Activity part was also good. I travelled there in April with my family just for relaxation. No suggestion is needed. It is recommendable to other travellers. It was value for money.
Hotel was average it was not so good and nor so bad. I went there by my own vehicle. Parking space was available in the hotel area. Hotel was located outside from the prime location. I reached easily in the hotel. Ambience of the hotel was normal. They did not provide any welcome drink. I did not face any problem during check in and check out. I took non-veg food inside the hotel it was not tasty. Staff service was good and acceptable. Room was not spacious but it was furnished. Garden view was available from the room's window.
