"Mind blowing views" new review

  • 7.0/7

To ensure you get the best views and best experience, spend a day on this. You need to travel from Ooty to Mettupalayam and back. Ooty to Coonoor is just 10% of your travel and you don't get the ride on steam engine. Buy tickets from IRCTC in advance to avoid last minute rush. You may not get a seat on weekends. 2nd class, and first class are the same, don't waste money on 1st class.

"Nice journey experience" new review

It's better to start your journey from peak to Coonoor. After you see all sightseeing places then you can board train it will be better option rather than putting it in middle. Enjoyable journey as you can see all the places in one journey. Best time for journey will be morning after sunrise.

"Awesome experience" new review

It was a wow experience for me. First time I ever travelled in such areas. It was cool and romantic to be with your life partner or girlfriend. Have fun guys. Please make sure that you carry a DSLR camera to capture all your memories. It is advised to have a sweater, socks and leather shoes to keep you warm in that environment.

"Most wonderful experience with Toy Train"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted 1 month ago
A trip up from Mettupalayam to Ooty by NMR is the most wonderful experience! Be sure to have a flexible time to experience this toy train trip at its leisurely pace. The sightseeing enroute like bridges, waterfalls etc and small stations with hot coffee/tea and snacks and friendly locals will definitely impress you.

Unesco has declared this rail line as heritage and we really felt proud of this fact while traveling in it. It was really a wonderful experience. Which cannot be expressed in words, the greenery around, awesome cute train and kids just love it, recommended.

"Awesome Hill journey in the train"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted 2 months ago
The best train journey you can enjoy in South India. The slow moving 4 car train with view of deep valley in one side and steep cliffs in another side, bridges, caves will undoubtedly blow your mind. The only thing you have to worry about is to get your tickets in advance. The ticket is cheap and food is also good. Good to start in the Morning. During season time, the crowd is high so it is advisable to be seated early (open ticket for general).

"Treat to take a ride in this beautiful rain"

The train route became operative in 1908, developed by Britishers and still they are running it on steam engine. It is hailed as world heritage site by UNESCO. Kids just love this ride and recommended.

"One of a kind and must visit"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted 2 months ago
For me this is the must do thing in Ooty, it will be crowded to get the tickets but am sure it is worth it and I loved it. From Ooty to Coonoor, the ride through the tea plantations and the greenery and the mist is one hell of a ride. If you are in Ooty this is must do thing, it's one of a kind.

"A lifetime experience"

A very well maintained railway. The view from the journey is breathtaking. The train travels very slowly through the side of huge cliffs. The trains are neat and clean, it is also well maintained. The ticket rate is very cheap thus there will be a large queue for taking ticket, it is better to book tickets early.
