A ride through the winding lanes of the old city will bring you to the stately Purani Haveli, the palace of the erstwhile Nizams that has now been converted into a museum.
The Nizam’s museum showcases the artifacts, gifts and mementos presented to the last Nizam on the occasion of the silver jubilee celebrations in 1936.
Apart from an exclusive vintage car collection, noteworthy among the exhibits are a gold burnished wooden throne used for the silver jubilee celebrations, gold tiffin box inlaid with diamonds, gold model of Jubilee Pavilion, silver coffee cups studded with diamonds, a silver filigree elephant with mahout, silver models of landmark buildings in Hyderabad and citations in Urdu about H.E.H. Mir Osman Ali Khan. |
