We went for 2 days trip to Lansdowne and stayed at Oak Grove Inn. The place is amazing, rooms are very spacious and comfortable. I loved the view from my room. We will definitely visit again very soon and will advice my friends and relatives to choose Oak Grove Inn. The home stay is Managed by Col Rawat And Mrs Rawat who is very well experienced in tourism industry and leave no stone unturned while serving the guests staying at Oak Grove Inn with warm Hospitality. Good food, excellent ambience and Awesome service, attracts tourists to stay at Oak Grove Inn in Lansdowne. I suggest to my overseas friends to choose Oak Grove Inn particularly for stay while on tour to Lansdowne.
The hotel was located conveniently. The hotel was far from the city. There were no issue while reaching the hotel. The hotel staff's were behaved very friendly and helpful. The appearance of the hotel was good. There were no delay while check in and checkout procedure. I was happy with the room which allotted to me. The room and washroom was maintained neat and clean. The amenities like AC, TV, refrigerator and geyser were available in the hotel with working condition. There was no view from the room which allotted to me. The food was average. I went the hotel with my family for relaxation purpose. The hot and cold water was provided by the hotel all time. I would recommend the hotel for other travellers. The money which was spending for the hotel was worth.
Really loved the 'homely' stay. Rawat and his wife were very nice to us. The views are good from the room, food was good but yeah beware of the Monkeys specially in the evening. In short enjoyed our 2 days stay here. Blindly go for this resort. :)
Its a resort managed by a real colonel and his wife. Hospitality was perfect. Food was homely cooked yummy... Rooms were ok but neat and clean.. Resort is full of greenery and has many hang out areas. Every inch of the resort was perfectly decorated.
We had booked this hotel during our weekend trip to Lansdowne. Food: The food at this hotel was average & they have options of buffet lunch & dinner. But do ensure that you tell them well in advance if you want to have the buffet meal as they only prepare as per request. Location: Lansdowne itself is a beautiful place & hence the place did not matter much Room: The room was totally not worth the price as it was smelly and had old bedsheets & towels which though were washed but look pretty old. There are couple of good hotels in the city center which can be booked when you plan to travel to Lansdowne but Oak Grove Inn is totally not worth the price. Room Tip: Take the room facing the valley.
Location of the hotel was not so good and it was far from the city. The appearance of the hotel and staff were very good. There was no any delay in check-in and check-out. The staff were quick to attend us. The room was not so good but it was manageable. All the amenities were in good working condition. We had a Mountain View form the room. The food was simple but it was good. The price was reasonable and there was no any activities conducted in this hotel. I will recommend this hotel for other travellers.

i with my family visited Lansdowne in the last week of June 2010. we wanted a place which was away from the hustle bustle life and over crowded tourists. After considering other options we zeroed down on Lansdowne. it is just six hours drive from delhi and also remote in its own way. the drive itself was wonderful. the calm and serene surroundings with thick oak and blue pine forests is unexplainable. One needs to be there to actually feel it...the best place to relax and unwind.
It was a while since I had taken a break from the weekly rut of work and usual chores. The biggest advantage of living in Delhi NCR is the easy access to hills on weekends for a quick getaway. And since I have already explored a fair amount of Uttarakhand over the years, I wanted to visit a place that was cut off from the touristy baggage that these hill stations come with. Lansdowne was long due and fit the brief of the hour perfectly and so, 5 of us planned an all girls road trip last weekend. We wanted a place that was conveniently located, was not in the main town and yet had all basic amenities in place and in that context, Oak Grove Inn came up as the most obvious recommendation online. The basic amenities range from average to good, perfect for a short and economical stay for people travelling with their own transport. However, the one extra filter of research that I always like in my travel plans is trying out the road travelled less by tourists and more by locals. And it always helps when the staff of the hotel is warm and helpful. On that count, I have to give this quaint hotel full marks on the warmth and hospitality offered by Col. Rawat and his wife - owners of Oak Grove Inn. We explored the wilderness around their resort and trekked through the jungle close-by for a heart Sunday morning breakfast. A great recommendation indeed :) Overall, we had a good stay and would definitely recommend this experience for anyone visiting Lansdowne.
We reached there on my birthday eve and was surprised by the unspoilt natural beauty of the place.Oak grove iin is certainly the place to spend a relaxing holiday away in the lap of nature.Col.Bikram Rawat and his wife Neelam are great people..very warm and cordial and very friendly. The atmosphere they maintain there is like..\'a home away from home\'.They had baked a delicious cake for my birthday and decorated it beautifully as well.Importantly all the visitors there as well as the col. and his wife celebrated my birthday as if i was family. They also have a beautiful dog archie...for pet lovers he is a bundle of joy.rooms are tidy ,well maintained and cosy.Bathrooms are clean and have running hot & cold water 24hrs.The valley view is great...they have a hanging balcony sort of Hangout place which is fabulous and unique.Food is not al-a-carte but healthy, tasty and wholesome home cooked food.In short best place for a short relaxing trip with girlfriend,or family .
Our one night stay at oak grove inn was very pleasant . The owners of the place were very friendly and our stay was no less than home away from home. The home cooked food served was very tasty. The place has a very cosy feel amongst the mountains and its worth spending the weekend there. The place is very creatively decorated with the variety of vegetation available in the mountains.
My overall visit to Oak Grove Inn @ Jaiharikhal (5 kms from Lansdowne) was fantastic. We were a group of 8 young girls & guys. The hotel Oak grove Inn is the best place to stay as it offers you a peaceful environment, scenic view, home-stay feel, delicious mouth-watering food (basic) and ofcourse neat & tidy rooms.
"A beautiful hill station with some stunning valley views and great weather. Far from the hustle bustle of city life and very limited network connectivity, you can actually focus on spending some quality time with your loved ones." shares Read More
