Overall, my experience in this hotel was nice. Hotel was located on the beach side. It was direct booking by me. There was no delay in check-in and check-out procedure. Staff service was superb and their behaviour was helpful and friendly. Veg, non-veg or everything was available in the hotel. I was happy with that. Room was excellent. It was spacious and well-maintained. It was also good looking. Very good view was visible from the room's window. Swimming pool, gym, spa, indoor or outdoor games or everything was available there. It is 100% a recommendable hotel. I travelled there in August 2014 along with my cousins. It was a relax kind of holiday. Location of the hotel was excellent. Appearance wise, it was also excellent. Everything was excellent ambiance, booking and front office, room, activity, food, etc. Pondicherry as a tourist place is good.
I stayed at Ocean Spray Resort along with my wife and kid. We were looking for a relaxed vacation and wanted to spend some time at a beach resort, however we couldn't find one at short notice and decided to settle on this. From the photos on their website, this place does look like something out of this world (out of India at least). After a good long drive from Bangalore, we finally reached the place. It appeared out of nowhere on the ECR road. Away from traffic and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The place did not disappoint! It appeared almost as magical in person as it did in the pictures. The place is huge and built on a man-made lake. The staff is extremely friendly, courteous and polite. They made our entire trip a pleasure. Among the amenities, the room was well furnished and clean. House-keeping and room-service staff was very nice. The lighting, controls, switches were very modern. The furnishing was top-notch. The room was lake-facing and offered a very good view from the sit-out. In short, it was better than expected. We were offered breakfast and dinner food coupons as part of the package. Breakfast was so-so and breads were cold. They had good South Indian food, but I am a continental food person and I would have expected more. Dinner was not too great during the weekdays with a limited spread, however the weekend dinners were too good. They had a huge spread of dishes and had about 15 desserts on each of the two days. This was the highlight of the trip. Of course, connectivity to Pondicherry and Auroville is very good. We made a lot of day trips between the hotel and various tourist destinations. The hotel was a quiet hamlet to relax when we got back. There is a nice but deserted beach behind the hotel just 10 min walk away. It is nice to go if you are a group, but I'd advice against going there alone or sending off women alone, as it goes through a small fishing village. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel as a must visit!
I visited the Ocean Spray Hotel, Pondicherry for 2N/3D. It was one of the best hotels that I have visited. The property is just amazing. All the rooms have an spectacular view of the beautifully developed waterfront. We had taken up 2 Ferns(Basic) rooms. Except for the Sky Jacuzzi its similar to the rest of the rooms. Swift check-in, courteous staff, an excellent continental breakfast buffet. The best part of the hotel is there pool. Its exactly like the pictures put up on their website. Even though it is not located in Pondicherry city limits, it is right up the highway and you have plenty of transport options. And for people looking to party, there is a disco-cum-bar. A DJ plays during the weekend for anyone looking to party. The 2 letdowns of this hotel are its inexperienced staff and its dinner buffet. Most of the staff do not speak English or Hindi fluently which is a big headache and also most of the staff do not know about the services offered or events happening in the hotel. The other main issue I had was with the dinner buffet. Very expensive and not worth it. Its better to order something simple from the a-la-carte menu than wasting money on the buffet. My advice to people planning a holiday to Ocean Spray is that get the information correctly. >While booking specify if you have any specific demands like separate cots, room not above the disc etc.. >Do not trust the hotel staff for any relevant information. Contact the front desk. >Enjoy their sumptuous breakfast, go into the city and try the local delicacies if possible even dinner if on a budget. Food is a bit on the higher price range. >For people travelling with friends (all girls trip like me) without any personal vehicle, be sure to come back to the hotel by 7 PM to avoid any untoward incidents. >Also they do not have a private beach. But a public beach is 10 mins from the hotel. >And most important GOOD QUALITY WATERPROOF SUNSCREEN.
THE ULTIMATE GETAWAY! The ambience: As soon as you set foot onto the estate you just realise your holiday has begun. For a start we were warmly greeted with seashell garlands and a delicious welcome drink. The check-in was non cumbersome. Having a separate waiting room helped! The room: The journey to your room/villa is refreshing as you pass green landscapes and well designed water bodies "in a golf. cart". We were booked in "the bermudas" villas that open onto a semi private lake- a treat for the eyes! The villa was very well furnished with all the amenities one can possibly think of. The activities: There is an activity board opposite the front desk informing about the activities one can indulge in for instance some handicrafts classes, screening of movies etc. So, even if you've come unplanned.. It really doesn't matter-because there is always something being organised. The price: Its a little heavy on the pocket. We paid Rs. 12K for a night. But good things come at a price! Overall experience: My stay will always be cherished.. As it is a world apart from the world ! Enjoyed the privacy , a true holiday !
I just stayed at the hotel for a night and the washroom was not very fine at the hotel. It was a new hotel so the maintainer was great and the room was very nice. It was my holiday trip with my friends. I booked the hotel directly. The location of the hotel was fine we just visited the temple and returned next morning there was nothing much we did there. The hotel was quite inside a lane but it was near the temple. The area around the place was looking clean. The look of the hotel was nice since its a new hotel. The front office staff was helpful the check in was done on time. They showed us the room and we checked all the facilities and booked our stay there. They just gave us the hotel and there was no other service there the hospitality was not great we were not even asked for a bottle of water. The room was average there was nothing much available. There was no WiFi facility at the hotel. We didn't take food there, the food was not very tasty around there it was not as per our liking.
Take your car and just zip down the highway. If beaches, adventure sports, scenic roads and good food is what your girls are looking for, Pondicherry fits your bill.HolidayIQ traveller Priyam Goyal shares, “We took an impromptu road trip to Read More
