I have stayed in a lot of home stays in different locations, but this was the first time I really felt at "Home." This place was suggested to me by a friend who had a great experience here and trust me it was worth it. The hosts Biju Chettan, Raji Chechi, their two daughters and the rest of the family made the real difference to this place. They were not business minded and valued the happiness and comfort of the guests more than the money. The rooms were very clean and very peaceful and the service was excellent. The food was awesome with lots of variety and taste compared to any home stays I had spent time before. They also made the best arrangements for sight seeing and also suggested good sight seeing locations. The property also has a badminton court and indoor games like Caroms, chess, and playing cards. The real difference to this place is the "Feel at Home." I recommend this place to everybody who are looking for a home stay which really makes you feel at home.
We were a group of 6 people who visited Wayanad on Jun 17th on a 2 day/2 night trip. Wayanad on the whole did not have much places that were to be seen. Our first day was rained out leaving us only 1 1/2 half days for sightseeing. We managed to visit three places but they were not so good that can be mentioned. About Olives Home stay The important factor when it comes to Wayanad is the resort that we are going to stay as there are not much places to visit and luckily for us we selected Olives home stay. This place is excellent and has got the best view from the balcony. We got ourselves three rooms of which 2 were suites. All the rooms were clean with beautiful interiors, bathrooms were really good and clean, one of the suites bathroom had a Bath tub. Food was really tasty and just like having one in our home. We had delicious Vegetarian and Non vegetarian food both for Breakfast and Dinner. Biju and his wife were really courteous and friendly. We were also served coffee in the morning/evening. The view out of the balcony is amazing overlooking the hills and the forest. We missed out on the sunrise early in the morning as we were too lazy to get up early ;-). One can spend almost the entire day by lazing around in the balcony. They also have tables in the verandah which can be used for having snacks or get togethers. We spent all of our evenings in the verandah overlooking the hills and chatting. The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and towels were all replaced on a daily basis which is amazing considering the fact that it was a home stay. One particular instance that we felt could have been better was the running hot water. It just took too much time for the hot water to arrive in the taps in the suites, which resulted in us waiting for a long time to take bath. Overall we had an amazing experience at Olives home stay and no wonder that it is voted the best among the resorts and hotels in Wayanad. A definite Yes for someone who is looking to spend Quality time in Wayanad with family or Friends.
The best place to stay in Wayanad without any doubt. Olives homestay kalpetta is the best in Wayanad. It is very close to city yet in a beautiful location. The service and hospitality of the hosts biju and raji was awesome. The home made food by Mrs. Raji was excellent. Rooms are superb and offer very good view. The travel tips by biju really helped. Go to Olives without any doubt.
We found Olive Homestay to be an excellent retreat for a family. The food (we are vegetarians) was very delicious. The locale is breathtaking beautiful especially from the room having mountain view. We went to edakkal caves and then drove to soochipara waterfalls. The drive passed through the tea estates. On the whole we had a great time.
The Olives - A perfect blend of scenic beauty, tranquillity and hospitality. We were received warmly by Mr Biju (our host) and his family. The balcony of our room opened to the mountains, which were very soothing. We enjoyed the sunrise with the brew of the some exciting coffee. A gentle cool breeze adds to the splendour. The night sky was full of constellations, clear and wandering. The food was really delicious and cooked over the slow fire to infuse the aromas perfectly. Mrs Biju is a master chef, and she kept special care of our likes and dislikes. We also got some simple and useful cooking lessons from her. Mr Biju also arranged for some wonderful sight seeing. The travel was very pleasant as the coffee and the tea estates unravelled a very beautiful view. The trip was full of culinary delights and relinquished my soul, senses and the inspiration.
