"Excellent place for day outing"

  • 7.0/7

Omkareshwar, at a distance of 70 kms from Ujjain is home to one of the 12 jyotirlingas. The place was all prepared to host the surge of pilgrims for Kumbh Mela with dedicated parking lots and rest areas 10 kms away from the temple. The suspension bridge like the Lakshman jhoola of Rishikesh has the dam as backdrop. Pilgrims have to beware of the pandas( touts) who promise quick trip of the temple and special pujas and then demand for ransom. Temples of Omkareshwar and Mamleshwar are on the opp sides of the river and can be accessed by boats or on the bridge.

"A good place for who believe in God"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted May 2, 2016
Omkareshwar Temple is good place for who believe in God and want to see 12 jyotirling. Very old temples can be seen here. This temple is located between two rivers kaveri and narmada. Hotels and Dharamshala are not clean and good here. On religious day all hotels and Dharamshalas advance booked here. Only Gajanand Dharamshala and Panchayati Dharamshalas are good to stay. Food quality is not good here. Only u can have poha, samosas and kachori here in breakfast. Omkareshwar Temple is small as compare to other jyotirlingas. Person should visit Mamleshwar temple also. Place is good as no rush and pollution. Evening time you can sit near the river bank.

Overall experience is good and place is beautiful. Temple is good. There were cooperative staff in temple and boating is good. It was a good experience. Don't talk with anybody regarding Darshan, go to online website and book your tickets, you get darshan within 10 minutes.

"More than you expect"

  • 6.5/7

Omkareshwar is one of the dwadash Jyotirling surrounded by landscaping mountains is more than paisa vasool. Good hotels are available in very cheap prices. The temple is situated in the bank of river Narmada, and just that a dam and after that union of 2 rivers. It says itself how beautiful this place is.

But most important thing about this place is that so far it hasn't commercialized so one can see essence of God and nature coming together.

"A must visit Temple"

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted Mar 25, 2016
If you are interested in religious places, this is one place you can not ignore. You can get a very close view of the lingam in the temple. 'Shayan Arati' is also worth seeing. With holy Narmada washing feet of the temple, the view from other side is superb. You will enjoy boat ride & also 'Parikrama' on hill top. The Parikrama Path covers several Temples & few ruins. The view from hill top is really nice.
