One of the best hotels to stay with families/ single/ groups. The hotel is in the center of the town and close to tourist office and other shops. Situated in height, hence the outside views are even more beautiful. The best part of this hotel is the breathtaking view of the beautiful Kanchanjunga Mountains. All the rooms have nice balconies which has a wonderful view of the mountains and the valley. The Hotel has no covered parking but has space to park about six cars, just in front of its entrance. We were even given a good discount on room rate. As such hotel is not very expensive and value for money. The rooms are not posh looking but neat and clean with all the comforts. We never had any problem with hot water or any repairs.

Best Experience: Another best thing worth mentioning is the excellent attitude of the staff. They always obliged what we asked for and served excellent food which is always piping hot and also tasty. One evening I have asked for fried momos. Though they were not available at that time, they brought it immediately from outside and did not pester me for the money. The room service is very fast and the serving staff is always with smile. I can say the views from balcony and the food served here are the major attractions in this hotel. I will go again and stay in this hotel for both the above reasons. On the whole, the hotel is a good option for the budget traveller and for both long and short stays.

Management & staffs are very very good . They care each and every guests carefully . You can watch Mount kanchenjangha and other peaks ( wide range ) almost every rooms .

Best Experience: We reached at Hotel from Siliguri around 7.00 p.m. and they deputed one staff exclusively to care about us . Foods are very good .

We have visited Pelling on January 2010 to celebrate our first marriage anniversary. As it was off season we did not book any hotel in advance & directly arrived at Hotel Sonamchen. The hotel is in upper Pelling. Specious room with a small balcony. The room has an excellent Kanchenjunga view. The toilet is even very clean & specious. We have spent two nights & returned with fond memory. Don't forget to include Rabdantse Ruins in your sightseeing package. Only one thing was lacked & that was food. As in off season there were no cook available in Hotel they cooked food by themselves which was not so good. Service was average as there were limited staffs at off season.

Best Experience: The best experience in our room was excellent hill view. Both in daytime & night. Snow capped Kanchenjunga was easily visible even from the bed itself.

Worst Experience: Food. As it was off season food quality was not upto the mark.

The Hotel, situated in the lap of nature, has a charm to stay in the silence of sky , wind and picturesque great Himalayas.Every room has the pride to have look of depth and curves of the Himalayas from bed itself.The Lady Owner keeps touch on every comfort of inmates,barring the attendants and Hotel-boys.The magestic lobby painted with Buddhist scripts and sculptures will invariably draw you near to the God,specially when chants from soundbox is played in low and rhythmatic voice.At the end food will energise one to come to the Hotel again

Best Experience: One day I fell in sudden illness due to my perenial heart problem.The Lady Owner herself came to help with relief to my family. On departure day, all Hotel-boys surrounded the Guests to speak\'Come Again\' and presented a skirf to everybody\'

The hotel was very good with very good view of the mountains,rooms where clean and good service provided.the best part was the people were friendly and welcomed us extraordinarily.
