Overall, the resort was a lot better than we had expected after seeing some old reviews. We had a good time, and it appears that service elevels have recently gone better. The resort location was awesome. The cottages facing the valley are the best ones to stay in. Our stay at Sterling Fernhill (Feb 29,2008-Mar 2) was really a memorable experience.The room was neat and well arranged. The room service was excellent and our request was serviced within minutes. The food was tasty and well-served though it seems a bit costly. Even though the resort is situated a little far from town ( around 4 km), easy travel has been arranged by the hotel itself. Very good hotel with friendly ambience . Very clean rooms and comfortable bed and Sofa -cum-bed . The upholestry is good and total environment is much much better than many others of the class . Provision for parking and driver's rest room are excellent .Given a chance we will like to repeat our beautiful experience again....

We went to Fern Hill, fearing the worst after reading some feedback on the Net. But we were pleasantly surprised. The resort location was quite pretty and in Novemeber, our apartment overlooked a valley that alternately misted and cleared. The staff overall was courteous despite high occupancy during the Diwali week. The activities available, for kids, were very good. We visited Sterling Fernhill, Ooty in November 2006. We were not expecting a lot in terms of room quality and service after reading the reviews on the net regarding this hotel. But our experience was simply wonderful. The property was undergoing renovations while we were there, but it did not obstruct our stay in any way....
