The hotel services were good and the property is located close to Shanti Stupa, main attraction, overall experience was awesome, this hotel could be easily recommended to others. The food served is also very good, though mainly vegetarian, except egg items are served.
When we reached late after a long journey, and the network availability was poor. Hotel staff arranged deliciously made food in an hour. They cooked in front of us and loved their team work and efforts such as to start kitchen at late of the night. Service was prompt and timely. Water was warm so after staying in cold weather it was more comfort to enjoy the hot shower Bath. Good thing about it was that it was near Shanti stupa. And we went to Shanti stupa for early morning photography and time lapsing at night.
Oriental was our base in Ladakh for a day trip. It's more of a hotel than a guest house. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Oriental is located about 15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Leh city. The views from the rooms were spectacular. The property has a good restaurant in it's premises, mostly serving Indian cuisine. However if one wanted to eat out, the closest restaurant was a good 5-10 minute walk away The staff were friendly and the front office ready to guide and arrange transportation Had a look at other hotels and Oriental compares very favorably with respect to the other hotels in Leh Suggest a room in the new block, upper floors for the views.
During my visit in September last, we booked in advance in this hotel. As per budgetary needs its perfect. The well mannered staff, well maintained lawn and room services pulls you again and again. Even they arrange in perfect for any help you need e.g. For outing itineraries etc. I would recommend this hotel for romantic trips or hangouts with your friends and colleagues.
Stayed at this hotel after reaching Leh for acclimatization. The hotel is located away from the congested roads of Leh and has majestic views to offer. Unlike the many hotels in Leh, this has a nice garden which adds to its charm and comes in handy if you want to spend time doing nothing and just acclimatizing. The food is a sure winner and the variety on offer during buffet is mind blowing (by Leh standards). The owners of the hotel are really a helpful lot and would go out of their way to help you (typical of Ladakhi people ). Overall the hotel should be surely a first choice for people visiting Leh.
Stayed at hotel oriental in June 2015 and found this place perfect. The hotel is located at a nice place with fantastic views and the staff is very cooperative. The rooms are value for money and meet all the basic requirements. The high point of the hotel has to be its amazing food which made us to book the same room on our return from Nubra.
This is a very good hotel and location is also good. Though it is at a 1 Km distance from the main market but near to Shanti Stupa. Owner is very helpful and very co-operative. This hotel is run by a family and all the members who are taking care of the hotel activities are very nice people. They can take care of your whole trip in Ladakh if you inform to them in advance. They have in house garden and farm where they grow the vegetables and fruits If you are staying in this hotel then keep a torch with you as if you are coming from the market to the hotel you may face some dark spots and street dogs on the way All the food joints are in the market so to take your food you have to go to market else eat in the hotel itself. They also cook good food In my case we generally eat in the market and return back to hotel around 9 PM. Because this is around 1 KM away from the market so we also enjoy the walk I recommend this hotel to all who wants to stay beyond the market rush.
This is an amazing hotel with a long range of rooms available as per your budget. It is located away from the heart of the city and very close to Shanti Stupa with magnificent views all around. The staff was extremely courteous and efficient. Recommended whether you are travelling alone as a backpacker, with your family or in a group.
This was one of the best hotels in Leh. Though Leh is a place has really got nice people but these hoteliers are too good to be in this business. Staff were prompt. They helped us in making up of our plans and provided useful info. Rooms are really value for money. Buffet Dinner was average for the price paid.
Staff behaviour was friendly and services were fully sufficient. Location of the hotel was very good as it was situated at a convenient place. Food was delicious. Rooms were neat and tidy. Activities were superb. I had no problem during check-in and checkout process. Inner and outer look of the hotel was fantastic. I travelled there with my family in July, 2014. Destination was excellent for travel. This is a recommendable hotel for travellers.
Its actually oriental guest house. The location of the guest house was really good, very close to Shanti stupa, Leh, but away from the busy town, very peaceful. The view from the room was also great, overlooking the snow capped mountains of Leh was mind blowing. The facilities in the room was also good, with 24x7 hot water toilets. Food was great but a bit expensive. The visiting area had internet facilities also. Overall the experience was great and definitely I would recommend.
Oriental Guest House is near Shanti stupa in Leh city. Hotel is situated in best location. This hotel is all time open for tourist and visitors. Room and food is good for all visitors and one of the best thing in hotel is hospitality and service. We enjoyed our holiday in Leh city because Oriental Guest House staff were very supportive.
Good hotel, nice food, excellent experience. Only problem in the hotel was heating system is not up to mark and they work from night 7 to 11 rest off the day is shut down. Ladakh is a cool place but you can't go in April and never with kids, best time after May during summer because temperature is warm.
The staff is very co-operative and the rooms are well furnished, food was also tasty. I think best hotel in the budget category hotel. I will definitely recommend my knowns for this hotel and I will recommend to reader go for this hotel without any hesitation.
Hospitality was good. The owner Mr. Kanchak saraf is a good man taking care of guests. Food was home made and tasty. Good ambience and location in lap of nature.
