Went there with my wife and had a wonderful stay. The hospitality and food was way too good, more than compensating for the difficulty in accessing the place. The rains had battered whatever approach was there but Harsha was very helpful in driving us up and down in his Jeep. The place is not very posh, but it is clean and sufficient. The food and hospitality is great, very silent, remote and extremely relaxing place. It is an easy drive to many of the famous attractions. One problem though is only BSNL mobiles work there, so if u want to be connected, pls having BSNL sim. All in all a great experience and recommend to others.
We have not booked . We went to chickmangalure and tried few home satys. finally got here one. Travlling to home stay in rainy season was difficult on bike but Harsh was helping us with Jeep. I realy liked the Food. It was awesome too good. If you are bored of outside hotel food. you enjoy the food here. They have arranged the camp fire. it was experience with drinks( we have taken drinks from chickmangalur). place is very inside and good. I suggest to go here if want to stay outside the city
This was probably the worst experience I had with any homestay. My family including elderly parents went there at 8PM. We were promised a big bedroom (for 6 people) with attached bathroom. Apparently the gentleman there had triple booked this room and another family was staying there and tow other families were waiting for the same space. Alternative we were shown two dingy rooms one with a small double bed and another with a single bed and a floor space for kid with dirty linen to put on the floor. In addition there was no toilet inside the house and the one single toilet was for my family, his family and the rest of the families that had come. I left telling that we cant stay here and went to Belur looking for a hotel to stay as we could not get anything in Chikmangalore. To reach this place one needs a 4 wheel drive vehicle. My vehicle and driver were below and we were told that my driver had left even though he was there. In all didnot feel safe and I feel the owner should have been honest and upfront. I also think that Holiday IQ should ask some basic questions before their site is listed, like what facilities they have etc., and put some penalties in place in case the homestay is not up to the mark.
